List of Nicholas Vachon's Reviews
I saw Dr. Vachon in 2019 after suffering a fracture of my talus from an MVA in 2017. I was experiencing severe pain that made it difficult to walk or move my foot and ankle and was suffering tremendously. My orthopedic doctor blew me off and recommended seeing a podiatrist. Dr Vachon brushed everything off as me being overweight as being the problem and recommended exercise despite the fact I could barely walk most days. I suffered for another entire year thinking it was all in my head due to his not really considering anything but weight being the issue. Eventual diagnosis after seeing a different podiatrist and orthopedic. A severe malunion of my fracture and bone fragments from the original fracture lodged in my foot, corrective surgery was done and no pain even though I am still overweight.
I am resistant to numbing agents. When I first came into his office in ~2016 as a minor, I didn’t know this. After telling the doctor that I could feel my foot after the numbing agent was administered, he gave me an extra dose. After I told him again, he told me he couldn’t give me any more and went in for the surgery anyways. I screamed in pain and left ASAP, blacking out from the pain in my mothers car on the way home. Fast forward, I had been referred to him for the exact same issue. I had immediate anxiety because of how things went last time and told him that numbing agents were likely not going to work several times before the operation. It went almost exactly the same as it did in 2016, except he didn’t ask me questions and nearly added misinformation to my doctors note. I demanded him to mention the lack of effectiveness of the numbing agent administered for future reference. When all was said and done, while keeled over in my chair, I was told that I was “Dismissed.” I cried.
My first visit to Dr. Vachon was excellent. He listened to my “complaint” and explained why my toes were causing me pain and we arrived at plan to do tendon releases on 3 toes to relieve the cause. He also took care of some callouses and an ingrown nail. I am very pleased with the results of today’s appointment.
My Mother had several appointments with Dr. Vachon. He was condescending and rude to her, and to me. He did not listen. Did not remember if he had taken x-rays, etc. Time to retire?
I was at the point where I couldn’t wear shoes. My feet were so bad with calluses. Dr Vachon performed his magic and I’ve been better since this past summer. Thank you so much!!
Dr Vachon is the hands down foot doctor in Ellsworth. I have gone to him for several problems over the years he has always directed me to the best and fastest resolve for that problem,. even when he had to operate on my foot it healed fast ,resolved the condition. and has never bothered me again. He his the very best!
Very concise, professional, and positive guy! Had a very painful ingrown toenail. Took one look, numbed it, and fixed it! Thank you Dr. Vachon!
Best in the business!
15 min and $250 appt to be told I needed to wear wide shoes for my bunions (which I was already doing). Extremely disappointed.
The worst doctor I've ever experienced. I was referred by my rheumatologist then treated like I was doing something wrong.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
