I have been seeing Connie Jordan for 56 years now I believe. I stopped seeing her due to moving back home and after a while started making the 2+ hour drive to return to seeing Connie Jordan again. She’s blunt and doesn’t sugarcoat things. She’s empathetic and listens I’m thankful to have her as a provider.
My mother has been getting her medical prescriptions for 30 years from Behavioral Health in Augusta Maine....Never had problem.... we moved to Portland Maine for my work and she reached out to Behavioral Health Resources for a new Nurse practitioner and was given Connie Jordan.....worst thing that could of ever happen from the first time she met my mother over the computer and prescribed all my mothers medications.... I was not impressed by her communication skills she seemed confused about what she was doing....when it was time for my mothers appointment to get her prescriptions renewed this so called Nurse Practitioner never showed up for the call appointment....I made 17 calls to her nurse to reschedule and no return call putting my mothers life in danger from being without her prescriptions the withdrawal side affects that can cause death Be careful of this place....its a joke only looking for money from insurance companies but could careless about there patients in general or there safety
Initial assessment and scheduling were fairly convenient. Physical location is hit or miss depending on the time of year. The Old Port is one of the most inconvenient areas to navigate or park in the state. Businesses block off whole roads for drinking purposes. Scheduling is hit or miss the office has no direct connect line or dedicated schedulers the folks who do scheduling can be unprofessional. The prescribing process is deficient. Depending on the timing of the appointment prescription can be one to four days late on average. If you have any anxiety about feeling secure with your scripts or appointments this maybe a poor fit. Lack of services in general in the Portland area make the convenience of this provider sometimes the only option
I did not have a good experience with this company at all. I met for an initial appointment with Constance Jordan and instantly felt unheard talked down to disrespected. I tried to explain my symptoms was belittled and didn’t even get to address the primary concern. I am an incredibly patient person and was instantly rubbed the wrong way. She also didn’t explain the medication that she prescribed to me. I called the secretary explaining the situation and that it wasn’t a good connection and when I tried to see if the other provider was available I was told I “wasn’t a good fit for the company” and was denied services. Left to assume I “wasn’t a good fit” for the company because I discharged services from Constance which is incredibly unprofessional and reflects the level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect she presented. Personally I need to feel heard and trust my psychiatrist and I did not receive that there. Maybe the other clinicians are a better fit. There are so few options for services in Maine which makes Behavioral Health Resources one of the few available which is disappointing. I would recommend seeking services elsewhere or choosing a different provider within the company.
Im happy to share a bit of my personal story if it helps you in choosing a safer place to find your mental healthcare. My story starts with the holidays and being low on my Lithium medication with 3 days left. Its never easy to refill meds around the holidays obviously because office and pharmacy hours and you cant fill scripts too far in advance so its a bit of a puzzle making it work. With a 3 day supply left I used my Walmart pharmacy app usually pretty convenient but also prone to error such as sending other scripts to other towns pharmacies from family visits and such and placed the order the pharmacy notified me it would be ready for pickup by Saturday at 230pm with no issue. When 230pm Saturday came and it wasnt ready the pharmacy said they were still waiting on doctors approval. Well at this point the doctors office was closed for Saturday and Sunday and I was completely out of my Lithium though I had called it in days in advance post Holiday and had not been contacted at all by anyone at Behavioral Health Resources as to why it had not been filled. Little piece of vital info here for anyone not familiar with Lithium or Bipolar it is extremely dangerous to simply stop taking Lithium at the drop of the hat like this and of all people it was the the psychiatrist and mental health professionals who had diagnosed and prescribed the medication for me in the first place that were putting me in this very situation the very people who in their profession should know just exactly the problem with this entire situation and the dangers of stopping Lithium like this causing a Rebound. But they did nothing to contact to me. I was extremely distraught at this point. Here is where it gets complicated. My last refill had been a mixup refill on my app. Instead of the higher dose script I had been updated it had refilled the original lower dose. When I had picked this up in November I didnt realize my mistake until I got home and opened it up. Panicking I showed it to my fiance and asked what I should do knowing what a pain it was going to be to contact Behavioral Health Resources who only has an answering machine so you have to wait for their return call at 430 in the afternoon then they would have to call it in to the pharmacy who would have to refill and Id have to go back out for it. My fiance obviously thinking the same thing suggested just take one and a half its the same dose. Having had other doctors recommend doing this with other meds it seemed like a simple solution in retrospect it made my situation a nightmare with Behavioral Resources.I had mentioned to them the mixup in a message on their answering machine trying to be upfront and forthcoming but they took it as I had been abusing the medication. That point alone baffled me because why anyone would abuse Lithium is senseless as it only results in toxicity and I had accidentally refilled my LOWER dose. AND my pharmacy refill records clearly indicated the refills had been done between 30 day blocks. But when I spoke with Christiana one of the therapists and Jen the NP they both insisted that Connie the psychiatrist had done the math and it didnt add up and that I had been lying to them. Okay at this point I blew a fuse. These medical professionals had taken on my care and medication and now were refusing to even communicate with me. They were incredibly rude interrupting me talking over me with condescending tones and overall lacking in any kind of professional manner that a mental health professional should hold. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. My fiance heard them too. He also heard me call them some horrendous names which was certainly not my finest moment but I wouldnt take it back. These women these doctors professionals happily put me in a dangerous situation needlessly over a total mixup and communication breakdown. Which by the way was sorted out with my wonderful and professional PCP and her NP in 15 minutes. Please read my story be safe and avoid them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
