One of the worst experiences for my 13 year old and I. Our regular was unavailable for a sports physical.. so While taking family history she asked about my husband's health. He had died. She asked from "what" and I said ALS. She was unaware of what ALS was. So I explained, Lou Gehrigs, that did not ring a bell so I said motor neuron disease. I then said it was a neurological disease. In front of my kid she says.. "Is it hereditary?" Seriously!!??! Obviously, I never went to her again.

She is knowledgeable, kind and very dedicated. She spends time with patients and has given me assistance in many areas, not ALL medicine. (I'm an RN of over 50 years experience, so I know what I'm 'talking' about. Plus I have a couple of other degrees, among them LAW.) I almost always keep my nursing background a secret when I first seek medical care, just to evaluate my treatment 'in cognito' . . . .

Dr. Jakonya is an amazing PCP. She is so compassionate and works diligently to help you. She is down to earth and extremely practical. I would recommend her as a PCP to anyone.
