Excellent care . Check -in waiting annoying, long waiting time.
If HealthGrades allowed for 0 star reviews, that's what I would give to Clarke Baxter. Dr. Baxter ordered an X-ray of my back and luckily the SW Harbor clinic offers X-ray in-house. When the radiology tech finished the x-rays, he said "go ahead and get dressed then open the door when finished changing and the doc will be right in" The tech left the room & closed the door. After about 1 minute, Dr. Baxter walked in on me without knocking or saying anything, and while I was naked (changing from patient gown into street clothes). Dr. Baxter never left the room to let me get dressed. I was very embarrassed. I hunched over forwards to hide my chest and privates, and grabbed my clothes using them to cover myself like a sheet until he left. After this incident our doctor/patient relationship completely disintegrated and Dr. Baxter became mean and aggressive towards me. He canceled my monthly narcotics script on the next refill.
I miss you and Kathy so much! I haven't found another dr that is as good as you are. Please come back if you get tired of the cold. You are the best! Xoxo,, Billie
dr. Baxter I am an old patient from Cincinnati, Ohio. I just want the people of Maine to know how lucky you are to get such an intelligent and compassionate doctor.I really miss this man. I was actually looking him up because I wanted follow up with him about a medical question. I am on my second doctor since he left. Neither one of them could hold a candle to Dr. Baxter. My loss is your gain. I hope you can appreciate his experience and superior qualifications. "Kindness" seems to be his middle name.
I was on vacation outside Bar Harbor fighting a miserable UTI. I refused to get medical treatment until I celebrated my 60th birthday on Monday. When I woke up Tuesday I asked my husband to please take me to Northern Light Primary Care "NOW". The staff there was wonderful, sweet & understanding. Blaze was fantastic! What a lovely lady! Kenra was so kind too. Dr. Baxter was awesome! He took care of me & I was antibiotics within an hour! Thank God for a local Pharmacy! I learned Dr. Baxter was from my home state of Ohio & graduated from OSU where I'm employed. He is a very warm, compassionate & friendly man. I just wish he'd come back to Columbus! He suggested I move to Maine... LOL! Thank you all for your rapid process of treating my nasty UTI so I could enjoy the rest of my vacation!!! Take care!
Dr. Baxter has been a wonderful doctor for me. He is kind, unrushed, friendly and very knowledgable. I will miss having him as my doctor after he retires. Best wishes for an incomparable area to live!!
I have been going to Dr. Braxter since 1992 and I have never had a bad experience with him or and measure the rest of my doctors to him which none measure up to him. I was upset when he was not in my insurance plan. I changed jobs so that I could continue to go to him.
I have only had 3 doctors in my life Im 50 years old the only reason I changed from my first doctor he retired the 2nd doctor I met was ok had that one for 1 year or so then I met Dr Baxter I knew from the start my wife and me were going to be cared for now going on 4 years later Dr Baxter spends the time with you, calls you back when you do need him and he says it like it is he told me in the beginning when we first met call me first before you go the ER just to make sure just because of the cost he doesn't want any one wasting their money either APLus for Kathey Magen and Dr Baxter
The other reviews reflect just how I feel...just wanted them to have another excellent review.
I have never in my life met a doctor that is a caring and helpful as Doctor Clarke Baxter. Him and Kathy (his lovely wife) have treated my whole family, Mother, Late Husband, Children, and now Grandchildren. They care about the people they treat and take the time listen and help all they can no matter what...My family and I are very lucky to have them!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
