List of Eric Omsberg's Reviews
Ten years ago next month I staggered into Dr. Omsberg's office in agony from an L5 disk problem. A "conservative" course of care had done nothing to alleviate the problem and I was getting desperate. Dr. Omsberg's staff got me in quickly, he immediately diagnosed the problem, and within three weeks he performed surgery so successfully that I wound up returning to work much earlier than I had anticipated. A decade on I have no problems with this injury and live a very active life. I can't say enough about Dr. Omsberg and his staff, and I can't imagine what would have happened had I not had that surgery when I did. Thank you!
Dr. Omsberg & his staff are wonderful. My husband has had 2 neck surgeries with him. He did carpel tunnel surgery on both of my wrists. Just recently, he was able to get me into a specialist quickly in Bangor when he couldn’t help the structural problem in my back. He explains and tells you the truth. I appreciate that. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Omsberg, and his staff, are very kind, thoughtful,
Dr. Omsberg performed a partial discectomy on my back six years ago and I am so very grateful. Having exhausted all other options for treatment, we met several times prior to the surgery to be sure it was a good option for me. I felt he listened to my concerns and understood the limitations I was experiencing because of my injury. It was scary, but I felt very supported by Dr. Omsberg and his staff both before and after the procedure. I still feel I could call now with any questions concerning the lasting effects on my back. He truly changed the course of my life - I can climb mountains again. :)
I went to Dr. Omsberg’s office on December 7, 2021 for an appointment. When I entered, I noticed that the office staff were not wearing masks. Soon after I checked in Dr. Omsberg called me back for my appointment, and he also wasn’t wearing a mask. To make matters worse, he suggested I take my mask off as well. I refused, and explained to him that it’s unsafe to be maskless indoors during the pandemic around others, regardless of vaccination status. Dr. Omsberg’s office didn’t do any COVID screening on me or even take my temperature when I entered. Please avoid this office, and Dr. Omsberg, to protect yourself from his carelessness regarding the pandemic.
DO NOT go to this office or see Dr. Omsberg. I was sent to this office by my work health office to get a 4th opinion regarding my wrist injuries that occurred at my job at EMMC. Dr. Omsberg and his staff were not wearing masks. I came in with a mask on and Dr. Omsberg asked me to remove my mask. I refused to remove it because we are in the middle of a pandemic, and he then rolled his eyes at me. When our appointment began he told me that he’d already formed an opinion prior to my examination. When I brought up information that was sent to him, which he supposedly had reviewed prior to the appointment and formed his opinion from, he admitted that he hadn’t actually read it. I had my own copies of multiple health care providers stating that my injuries were work related, and I tried to have him read them. He glanced at one of them, but didn’t read it in full. I had to take back the paper and read it to him out loud. He wouldn’t be bothered to read the other paperwork I’d brought that stated my injury had occurred at my job at EMMC, and he abruptly decided the appointment was over. I have surgery scheduled on my right wrist soon, and Dr. Omsberg wasn’t familiar with the doctor who will be performing my surgery. Despite this, he still said very pompously that he’s more qualified and would be better at performing the surgery than the doctor I am scheduled with. Please don’t go to this doctor for anything, but also please pray for him to wisen up and wear a mask for his safety and the safety of others due to the pandemic. Have a blessed day y’all!

I didnt like that he ignored everything I said and was only interested in checking and xray the place where he did a fusion 13 years ago not any of the new problems further down my neck and back and he was rude as well
He told me to get used to being in pain because I’m old. Wasn’t helpful.
Recently seen for my low back, not many choices in Maine for a spine surgeon. Omsberg was the closest, he was to the point and honest. Had surgery and very happy. Finally feel like myself again After several years.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
