Dr. doesn't change his gloves between patients or after using computer

I am not looking for great “bedside manner,” I am looking for a great doctor. I am 64 years old and was referred to Dr. O’Grady by my optometrist for possible Glaucoma. He was the first eye care professional that noticed I had dry eyes and recommended artificial tears, especially before the field of vision test. I had a follow-up three months later and it was pretty clear that I did not have the beginnings of Glaucoma. An annual check-up a year later confirmed that. In every visit, Dr. O’Grady was very professional and answered all of my questions. Yes, the Great Lakes Eye Institute is huge and sees many patients every day. But all of the staff and nurses are very friendly and efficient. All of my tests and images were done before I saw the doctor so that he had time to review and make the proper care decisions. That is the nature of the process. You spend some time waiting and taking tests but that is the key to getting the right diagnosis. Also, the TVs are no longer set to Fox News. Now we watch home improvement shows! All-in-all, it has been a great experience. I feel very confident in the care I receive from Dr. O’Grady and the Great Lakes Eye Institute.

Had cataract surgery done. Very pleased. Came out well.

Would not recommend this Man to anyone he is arrogant, rude, with HORRIBLE bed side manner!

Dr O'Grady possesses horrible bed side manner and no empathy toward patients. Great Lakes Eye appears to book patients every two minutes, number one concern collecting money, lastly recommend seeking vision/medical help elsewhere.

I've gone to him for years (why, I don't know). The wait time is terrible and he has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen in my life. No people skills whatsoever. He diagnosed me with glaucoma and has been treating me for it for years. Insists I have follow up visits every four months. Guess what? I was seen by another doctor in a practice affiliated with a bery large and well known hospital and I don't even have glaucoma! I had heard he was a good doctor, but I wouldn't trust him to treat me or anyone, for that matter. Just like others have said, I think he's in it for the money. Go elsewhere!

I had cataract surgery this year. Everything turned out great. I have been in many ophthalmologist offices and it is always a 2 hour wait. The technicians do all of the pre work so he can review and treat. I have found in my 40 years of nursing that the friendly, back slapping doctors are not always the best. I am glad to be his patient.

Went in complaining of migraine pain behind my eye. After three minutes with OGrady, was told I had dry eye sockets and probably a sinus infection. Three days later I had an aneurysm rupture.

He knows his stuff, but he is probably one of the worst doctors I have ever had to go to. You can wait in the office sometimes for over 2 hours before you are seen. One day we arrived at 11 and left at 3! He tends to be very abrupt, not explain himself properly and then say that it was you who misunderstood. One day he actually told me that he would simplify it for me, or try to speak to me in " layman's terms". It is vision, not rocket science. As a nurse, I think I had a grasp on his being a jerk without an issue. At least that was simple enough for me to understand. The office staff is rushed and overworked, the front desk is very impatient with the patients. The testing staff was excellent though. You end up with too many follow up visits. Yet another 2 hour process? How many could you possibly need? I felt like it was all for the money. Several times I pulled up on time, the seats in the office were full and he was not even in the parking lot. I have never seen anything like it. Moved my account to Mount Pleasant. Just not worth the stress.
