I saw Dr. Thornton for a colonoscopy. From the moment he introduced himself, I felt truly at ease. He is very personable and (along with his staff) communicates in a way that made pre and post surgery information/objectives very understandable.

Dr. Thornton was an oversight Dr. In a few of my stays at the hospital. Then recently he had performed a inguinal hernia surgery on me and the results are amazing. I was up on day 2 and haven't slowed down since. The incision is beautiful and won't be even noticeable in few more weeks.. I would drive across the country for a doctor as good as Dr.Thornton.. and he has a great personality and very friendly which is very comforting when facing surgeries. I highly recommend him.. I hope the alpena area is capable of keeping him around for a long time to come because this quality of doctor is so rare in small communities.

Dr. Thornton was excellent at the hospital and in office. As a first time patient the experience could not have been better for me. He was very composed, knowledgeable, thorough, and engaging.
