Bahaa Malaeb's Online Review Report Card

I try not to post negative reviews after my first interaction with a service provider, but I am making an exception here as there are exceptional circumstances. I have the following expectations each time I seek services from a professional service provider: 1) Listen and understand my need and why I am seeking help; 2) Understand the relevant facts and apply them to the matter at hand; 3) Present a solution that is actionable, fits the facts, and is responsive to my need. I booked an appointment with Dr. Bahaa several months ago and none of my expectations were met. This was our first meeting so there was no history or file for him to review to become familiar with me/my situation. But the time he entered the room to the time he left was no more than 3 or 4 minutes, and despite not examining me at all, he told me that I had 1 of 2 conditions that were quite different from each other and had different courses of treatment. Then he said that I got to pick which one I had. I have never been given a multiple diagnosis by a medical professional and then been told it was up to me to make my selection. Isn't that why we seek out medical advice in the first place? Isn't the MD supposed to give me their best judgment as a course of action as opposed to leaving me to guess between various alternatives? And on top of it all, neither condition he offered made any sense vis-a-vis the facts surrounding my situation. It was the most incredible encounter I have ever had. Certainly not up to the standards I have come to expect/encounter at UM Health Systems over the years that I have been one of their patients

My son is 22 yrs old with Down Syndrome who had very bad urethral strictures, he was se by Dr. Maleab and it was determined he needed reconstructive surgery of the urethra. Dr. Maleab did a excellent job, his staff is great, the preop dept could use a great deal of work but Dr Maleab is a wonderful Dr with a great bed side manner.

Seemed smart probably is but then pre op was asked several times if he was going to cut off a certain area he said no three times to me twice in front of my partner he said no every single time. When surgery was over a day later when I could remove the bandages he did exactly what he said and of course he had taken skin from the exact spot he said he would not. Warning to all other patients. I wouldn't put my name on something so embarrassing if it wasn't important to warn everyone about this doctor. I had high hopes for him.

Dr. Malaeb is the best. I cannot thank him enough for fixing me. I am so glad I was sent to him, as I dont think anybody could have done what he did. I would recommend him to everybody. I also cannnot thank him enough for healing me and giving my life back to me.. wonderful doctor!!!!

Dr. Malaeb is the worst doctor ever he will make it seem that he will do things as he says and then he will not follow up or do to things as said worst doctor ever he wont even call back or respond to things unless you complain and the staff is to get on him then he is to hang the phone up while talking with him he is just in it for the money as soon as he is corned to reply to things he is to just quit and he is all done with you that means he will not finish anything such a waste for a doctor

Dr. Malaeb did an excellent job pre-op, surgery and post-op. He does not have time to waste chit-chatting in the office. Never the less, he is courteous and informative. This was my third urethroplasty since 1972. I am convinced he was the best surgeon. I admire him for the stamina to do 213 minutes of specialized surgery on a patient who had been cut-on a few times before (with associated scar tissue, etc.).

He is a very knowledgeable physician. I had numerous surgeries for the same condition with very bad results at the hand of other urologist. He was able to correctly diagnose and treat my complex situation while at the same time ensuring that I was comfortable with every step and I was a key part of the decision making. He listens! And gave me a lot of time

I went all the way to Michigan based on a recommendation of a friend who saw Dr Malaeb for a similar condition. I had a bad stricture that was not managed well by my previous urologist. I was very happy with the care, the clinic, the surgery, the level of professionalism and the excellent skills. It's been more than a year now and I wanted to wait before I post this review. Excellent physician. He changed my life.

Horrible office to go for procedure. Staff seem rushed. Dr. came in with someone without asking if I wanted someone to observe besides the RN. He started procedure before I was even numbed up. He seemed rushed too. He was ready to stop and have it scheduled under anesthesia for a simple outpatient procedure that he wasn't willing to give the lidocaine (numbing medication) a minute to work. I won't go there ever again, oh and I'm also an RN
