Excellent Internal Medicine physicians! Plus, the entire staff is always kind, pleasant and thorough. The 3 docs I have seen are excellent!
This is whole strip of medical buildings is great. I've been a patient for a few years, and was thrilled to see they had building 10 doing labs on Saturdays til noon. (I have a surgery Tuesday and they said I needed labs done on Saturday. I had no idea they did it!) They're super nice and even with a dozen people ahead of me, I was in and out in under half an hour.
We are looking for a primary care doctor, so we went with Brandon Moretti at Briarwood Medical Group because they had immediate availability. My son has complex health issues and was just released from the hospital days before from a car accident and is recovering from a collapsed lung. He complained about pain in his chest and this doctor marginalized my son's concern, even after consulting with a colleague. They said it was 'probably just bruising'. We went to ER within a couple of hours after that and my son was immediately admitted for pnuemothorax and potential lung recollapse. He was in serious respiratory distress. Dr. Moretti MISSED AN IMMINENT LIFE THREATENING ISSUE and sent my son home when he need to go directly to the Emergency Room. Now I see why they have immediate openings available. Do not choose primary care at this office. I am shocked at how careless they are. My son felt very disrespected.
I have been going to Briarwood Medical Group for over 13 years. My pcp could not be anymore kind and compassionate. I have seen a number of the other medical professionals and the one issue I did have a few months ago (not with my pcp), I asked to see the office manager privately and she was gracious and had a notebook to take notes. Sometimes, my waits are longer than I expected (and has gotten MUCH better the past few years), but, I try to remember, my physician makes me feel like I'm the only one on the schedule and gives me 100% of time and attention. The only other thing I would note is it is harder to see your own doctor 90% of the time because they do get booked quickly.
I started seeing Dr. Susan Kamper last fall. She walked into the room and said, "Well, you look good, but you're a mess." I asked her what she meant and she flicked the paperwork she was carrying and proceeded to shame me for a couple of prescriptions from my psychiatrist and the fact that I said I was taking CBD for my chronic arthritis pain. She then proceeded to order a drug screen without telling me. It was supposed to be a UTI check, nothing more. She did this twice. The last time I saw her I left with my list of questions unanswered. I read her notes on my visit and she commented on my behavior as being anxious. Yes, and that is only because of her lack of listening, respect, and her judgmental attitude. I reported my feelings to the administrator who basically blew me off. She thought it was "funny" that the doctor told me I was a mess. No thank you.
Dr. Jennifer Lukela has been my PCP for about a decade. She is an amazing provider and caring professional. She takes as much time as she needs with you - not just the time she has allotted for you - so her schedule is often backed up. I'm more than happy to wait, as she gives me the time I need. Anyone I've ever talked to who shares her as their primary care physician feels the love. When she's not available to see on short notice, I see Nurse Practitioner Judith Clark. Ms. Clark also is a fantastic healthcare provider and gives great advice! I've visited this location at least 30 times and have always had great experiences with phlebotomists, nurses, and office staff. Keep up the good work!
I just returned home from my appointment at the Briarwood Medical Group. I am so upset at the lack of care that I feel the need to post my review. Firstly when I made the appointment I was told that my appointment time would be 10:40am. Then I received an email reminder of the appointment that stated 11:00am. Then I received a text message reminder that stated 10:50am. When I arrived at 10:40, I was told that my actual appointment was at 11, but I must have been given "arrival times," so I showed the receptionist the text message where it clearly said "appointment time 10:50am". Maybe this is silly, but a few weeks ago I made the mistake of showing up early for the appointment time I was told and found out that I was actually 40min early! And then when the doc is 10-15min late you have been waiting for almost an hour that you didn't need to wait. This is a great lack of care for the patient's time and is extremely misleading. Secondly, I had made my appointment stating that I had an ingrown toenail. My doctor walked into my room, looked at my toe, and told me that as an internal medicine doc he "can't do anything for an ingrown toenail. No one in the clinic can do anything for an ingrown toenail. And ingrown toenails really don't really get an internal medicine doc excited." So now I have wasted time and money on a copay for an appt where they knew beforehand that they couldn't do anything for me. Thirdly, I was given a referral for a podiatrist. I was told that there are only 2 podiatrists at UM. I called to make my appointment and was told the earliest I could be seen is July -- 3 months from now. Thankfully the receptionist at checkout gave me a list of non-UM podiatrists who I would need to call individually to make an appointment and ask if they take my insurance. Michigan Medicine does not get my vote for quality patient care. I'm very disappointed in lack of the patient care I received. The one saving grace was the woman at checkout who helped me, but she can't make up for the disregard I received elsewhere.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
