12 hours to be sent home with meds for a sinus infection. Went in for a possible reaction to meds. Was offered no food or water despite the 12 hour wait- and medically was allowed both. Waited hours for a Tylenol and never received it. It seriously looks like a third world country hospital- cots and ill people waiting for hours in a hallway. This hospital is an embarrassment to the university it represents.

I went to the ER with my daughter since she had throat problems and it was difficult for her to breathe, and we stayed for (4 HOURS) and a doctor never came to see her, we ended up leaving. When someone goes to the ER it is because the person really feels bad because nobody likes to go to an ER exposed to some disease, with so many doctors that they must have an ER and no one could even go to check how she is still feeling? totally upset and frustrated. AND, I put only one star because if I didn't put it, it wouldn't let me put the comment because I wasn't going to give it any stars.

Worse experience - not sure why this facility is called emergency because there is NO SENSE OF URGENCY here. It has been 7hrs still no clue when I can take my wife inside !!! Do come with DAYS of PATIENCE. Hope one day US is going to have better medical care!!!!

I've been waiting for a room and to see the doctor from 10:00pm and it's going on 3:49 in the morning and I'm still sitting in the hallway

Father got transferred from Marshall’s emergency care center to UofM got there and waited over 9 hours to get checked in and he was transferred in an ambulance. This is by far the worst experience and hospital ever. People laying down in the hallways felt like I was walking through a homeless alley.

I was sent by my Ophthalmologist to be seen immediately to get a MRI. I had the prescription in my hand. The secretary at the emergency room told me that means nothing you have to be seen by an emergency room doctor and be evaluated. I told her I was just evaluated by a University of Michigan Ophthalmologist. They said you still have to wait in the waiting room. The waiting room was over capacity , no joke ,at least 75 people waiting to be seen. I thought to myself this is gonna take at least 10 hours just to be seen. So I decided to leave.

Horrible place, tiny, filthy and hours and hours of waiting time even for a heart patient. Do yourself a favor and go to Henry Ford or drive to Cleveland because even after you'd be done there, you'd still be waiting here

Waited 6 hours to finally be seen by the DR. Waiting in the front lobby was a nightmare. Patients screaming, cursing, police officers in and out. I felt bad for the staff, I can’t imagine enduring that daily. The wait was really long. However, the ER staff in the back were phenomenal from the nurses, techs, and DR’s. I think this could be a fantastic ER as they have the talent - they just need to invest in expanding the waiting areas and maybe adding another entrance for the prisoners and people coming in on stretchers. Could cut down on some of the chaos.
