Dr too quick to jump to assumptions, doesn’t listen to parents
The staff is great and the doctors take time with every patient!
Wasted our whole morning filling out forms only for the incompetent nurse to tell us they could sign off on a physical. Find a place that knows what they are doing. This isn’t that place.
Unfortunately, I was denied care without even a conversation, due to my plan to have a home birth. The voicemail they left to inform me was full of assumptions, stating "many of our past home birth parents would not show up consistently to appointments.'' and ''we can't offer home visits'' I never asked for or assumed they offered home visits. I had no intentions of 'not showing up' to scheduled appointments. I plan to take my babies for well checks and scheduled vaccines. For them to assume I'd be an 'irresponsible' client is inappropriate and felt unethical. The fact that they denied care because of stigma and negative assumptions about parents who birth at home was incredibly surprising, even for me as someone who works in the medical field. I hope to find pediatric medical providers in the area who show parents and families more respect and patient centered care than what I received here. I at least deserved a conversation and to be asked my intentions for medical care. Hopefully this is not their regular way of communicating with potential patients.
Doctors - 5 stars Nurses - 5 stars Reception/logistics/check in/portal - 5 stars Compassion - 5 stars Parking lot - 4 stars (huge potholes near entrance, but lots of parking and lot in great shape) Time - 5 stars After hours nurses - 5 stars Ultimate level of community respect - ask around We have been with Liberty Pediatrics since 2007 - Four daughters later I can not think of anything negative to say about the whole operation. It is discouraging to read some of these reviews - but I can tell you that LP has been THE PREMIER pediatrician in Ann Arbor for as long as we have had children here. The first child we had in 2007 we had to call in on the first of the month to try to get a spot with them. It felt like a radio sweepstakes - call after call to a busy signal and maybe our fourth call we got a person and were accepted - felt like winning the lottery. Times have changed a bit - Back in 2007 Dr. Andy Sieler came to our house after our home birth - We understand there are liability reasons that make this difficult. We were also vaccine hesitant/delayed due to having a stay at home parent and not mixing with other children and they were able to accommodate our first child breaking the DTaP vaccine down into its components - of course now research seems to indicate a better over all response by having those vaccines in conjunction with one another. They always offered vaccine advice and encouragement, but respected our delayed schedule. Second child came in 2009 - Dr. Seiler came out to the house again. A calming, gentle presence. 2012 was the last home visit we had for our third homebirth - even then home visits was something they were moving away from. 2015 our four daughter was born at U of M and Dr. Seiler came out - four kids - four visits - not sure how you repay a practice for that kind of love and care - but they are always my top recommend and when I do recommend them - the person asking for recommendations always say that we are the fourth or fifth to give the recommendation. Over the years we have had some calls with their after care nurses - Phenomenal care and service - seamless wrapped into the office the following day. About twice a year they get us in for Acute - Same day appointments. Through covid they had an out door tent. They have made their check in process so easy with texts and their patient portal is awesome. Dr. Lauren Gold is a family favorite - but truly we are happy to meet with any of the doctors or NPs here!!!!
A marvelous group of phenomenal humans! We are really grateful for their help and support!
Cannot overstate how wonderful this practice is. Every nurse, staff member, and doctor we've worked with has gone above-and-beyond in big and small ways. When you call, you are rung through to the front desk right away (not on hold forever like at my PCP). The nurses have been SO kind and helpful in answering tons of questions, which as new parents has been game-changing. We are never rushed out of the office even though we always come with lots of questions. We are so happy to have found Liberty Pediatrics!
This review reflects more than 15 years of experience with Liberty. As a practice, Liberty mixes scientific expertise and unsurpassed personalized care. Their providers are smart, compassionate, creative, flexible, and their services are in high demand. As a small town practice, Liberty provides a more personal relationship than one might experience at a larger practice. So, correct family fit is really essential. I view a pediatrician as a long term partnership and one of the most important that a parent will develop. Babysitters, childcare providers, teachers, coaches, counselors, specialists, etc. come and go. The pediatrician is the constant from infancy to young adulthood. From the moment that Dr. Seiler stepped foot into my hospital room after delivery, to when Dr. Barclay counseled me through early months of breastfeeding, to supporting us through the bumps, bruises, and illness of childhood, to (now) new and more complicated challenges of adolescence, they've been there. The physicians, nurses, and office staff at Liberty have earned my family's trust and devotion though hundreds of office visits and late night and weekend calls. After reading some of the negative reviews, I'm very sorry to hear that some others have had negative experiences. What I can say for us is that Liberty has been outstanding. Over nearly two decades and 10+ insurance changes, we never had billing or scheduling problems that weren't easily resolved (e.g., sometimes we've had to wait months for well child with a specific provider, but urgent appoints are never an issue). We've never had problems with medications, vaccines, or specialist medical or alternative therapies. Liberty will consider it all. And whatever they don't or won't do, they tell us why. When I have questions or concerns, Liberty's providers and nurses take the time to explain why they are recommending a certain course of action. Though they have (at times) educated me about best practices and helped me parse scientifically valid therapies from potentially dangerous ones, I have never felt pressured, judged, or dismissed. Bottom line ... For my child, Liberty has provided unparalleled patient advocacy. They are intensively devoted to their patients and truly go above and beyond. For us as parents, they have become our trusted partners. I am a better informed, better equipped, and a more confident parent due to their care. Thank you, Liberty! And thank you to my colleagues who recommended this gem of practice many years ago.
This is the best pediatrician office! The staff is kind, friendly and accommodating. Just incredible from the ladies at the front desk to the nurses who call you back about any question you may have. They make you feel like you are family. I only left this office bc I moved. I highly recommend Liberty Peds!
My kids have been seeing Dr. Gold since 2011. She’s great with all three of my kids. Her personality is perfect. Low key and approachable during visits. Speaks directly to the kids. Follow up when we need nudging. Is not alarmist but also is very thorough. She’s truly a child advocate, it’s very obvious she cares deeply about the kiddos she treats! Also so pleased with the support staff. I’ve never had to wait for a call back when I’m worried.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
