List of Medical Weight Loss Clinic - Ann Arbor's Reviews
I am doing this review as someone who just started the plan, so I will have to update down the road based on my experience. But just wanted to share the experience I have had so far, because I did read the Google reviews before going and tried to keep an open mind an ear. They were very up front with me on the cost and what is required for the plan. They have not pushed me into anything that would be unhealthy for my medical conditions (i.e. I cannot have the shakes because of a medical condition). They have a guarantee for their program that if you don't meet the set goal weight by the end of your program, they extend it for free, IF you follow their requirements. You don't HAVE to do shakes and bars or fat burners, however, if they recommend it for your program and you don't, extending the program isn't free if you don't meet your goal weight in the timeframe. I personally refuse fat burners because of a medical issue, and I won't be doing them. Lauren said some people opt to not do these things also because of cost. They just make folks aware they can't fall in the plan extension guarantee for free if they don't meet the goal in the plan timeframe. The plan can always be extended for additional cost. Upon reaching goal weight, maintenance support and transition is included for a year for free and folks can choose to extend it beyond a year for a reasonable cost if they feel they need continued support. Secondly, the Freedom program is real food. I get all my own groceries. There's no prepackaged anything except the bars they recommended for my plan. The plan focuses on meeting foodgroups and portion sizes with high protein and trying to focus on lower sodium. The only downside with this is there is a vegetarian plan or a non-vegetarian plan. There is no hybrid plan for proteins which kind of stinks (I will miss you black beans and chickpeas). They are able to help adjust some foodgroup requirements though for medical issues, like I was able to reduce dairy and increase vegetable and fruit as I'm lactose intolerant and I can't fathom drinking 3 glasses of lactaid milk a day because of the limits on what lactose free options I'd have under the plan. I personally can have small amounts of cheese but any simple milk products I have to have lactose free. So I'm glad they were able to work with me on that. The one thing I noticed after plugging in my foods for the week in the app I use is that I am at about 1600-1900 calories. I'm used to most diet plans requiring something lower, but this plan focuses on portions, clean eating, and foodgroups, not calories. So that is something to be aware of. But caloric deficit for people who are already closed to a goal weight can be achieved by adding more exercise. I know for me who is very overweight, this is already within my caloric deficit range from other non-extreme plans I've done. But someone who is thinner potentially may need to consider the exercise factor more. I haven't had the experience with weigh ins and failures yet because I just started the plan, but I've been assured that they work to help people get back on track. I understand there may be different personality types in how some people may approach that who work there. But at the end of the day, the ball is in my court to decide if something is reasonable. Like my plan is starting midweek because of a holiday and doctor visit, so I will only be going in one more time this week for weigh-in because it would be nonsensical to me to do otherwise and be there for 3 times. Mary agreed this was reasonable. Thus far, I've felt like they've been honest and upfront with me. My BS meter has not been tipped here as of yet.
I want to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank Noura for the incredible support she has provided throughout my weight loss journey. She has consistently gone above and beyond—explaining everything clearly, guiding me through products and food choices, and offering unwavering support every step of the way. Noura's knowledge, professionalism, and encouraging attitude made all the difference. Thanks to her dedication, I’ve been able to move forward with confidence, and this experience has been both positive and successful because of her. I’ve never met an employee who demonstrates such passion and commitment—she truly sets the standard for excellence.
When asked for a refund when I decided it was not for me, was told it could take up to 8 weeks. I was told by Mary "do you need some money" when I explained that I couldn't afford the program. I had to sign a document that said up to 8 weeks. I should of been informed of this in the initial meeting.
The biggest scam. I did this diet twice and although i had some results definitely not realistic!!! They tell you that you can loose weight and hit your goal within a certain amount of weeks. They dont factor work life balance like if you go out with family or friends or work alot and dont have time to cook. Then they try to sell you more weeks to keep your business. Never again!also there products have so many chemicals in it they tell you they are healthy and safe but read ingredients!!!!! Your better off eating junk food than to get their products.
I just cannot say enough wonderful things about the Ann Arbor Medical Weight Loss Clinic! Mary, Saima and Ingrid helped me be successful on my weight loss journey. They are all so knowledgeable and encouraged me to be successful! I am very thankful for this clinic to be accessible with accommodating hours! ❤️
I started medical weight loss clinic on October 8 and as of October 17 I’ve lost 11 pounds!! I am so very excited with the beginning of this program. Ann and Nora have been exceptionally kind. They work well with you and I would say if anyone is struggling with a weight issue try medical weight loss clinic, it really does work!
I am a lifetime member having lost almost 50 lbs in 2013. I kept it off for some years. I gained a lot of it back during Covid lock down. I have gotten back on track this past week and weighed in this morning at the Chesterfield location. The manager was there and she weighed me and took my BP. She was very nice. I am gonna weigh in again next week. I really like that samples are back! I had a little bit of chocolate cake in a small cup. Next time I am gonna ask for 2 or 3! Lol It is a nice healthy snack after weigh in. I am now 50 yrs old and MWLC is the only weight loss plan that has ever worked for me. Having lost almost 50 lbs in 5.5 months, my most important advice to others is to follow the plan consistently! I did not allow "cheat days" and the weight fell off me. It was expensive! I had come into a little bit of money and that is the only way I could afford it. BUT by paying thst money, in my head, I knew it was too expensive for me to fail! In restrospect that helped give me insentive...lol. I also had a script for Phentermine. Phentermine does not work for me as well anymore. My body got to use to it. I am getting a script soon for Phentrametrazine instead. I used it once before with zero side effects. I started again following my pink card plan from 2013 (using supplement puddings). I am older now so it might be a little slower for me but I have to keep focused.
Wonderful people and products that really work! I lost over 30 pds in 16 weeks, They supported me in my weight loss journey and continue to help as I continue.
I like MWLC Dearborn so much I was i’m struggling with my weight I was at a starting weight of 256, But God lead me there and I met Renee and Deavyon whom I love to consult with, they have assisted me with losing almost 20 pounds. Thank you for making this the best clinic around!
Super friendly staff, although it all feels like a money grab… it’s an astronomical amount of money and when I said I’d have to think about it, Mary came back with a different ‘plan’ that cost slightly less and then gave another option when I still wasn’t sure. So I gave in and paid the $832 for what she offered. Was never told it didn’t include the other stuff. So she came back from taking the money and sat down to say ‘well you need these snacks and shakes. You have to have them. In bulk it’ll be $576.’ Excuse me? What? The other option was 300 something and I decided at that point it felt like a bait and switch and I’d be opting out altogether. But now she’s ’too busy and has to get to the other people’ so doesn’t have time to refund the over $800 she just got from me… so I walked out and will have to dispute the charges with my bank. 🙄 I’m sure this works for some people but plenty of people can do this on their own without spending hundreds and being pressured to buy products you don’t really want to buy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
