List of The Lotus Center Of Ann Arbor's Reviews
Came after suggestion from friend will not return to this "home" business I felt awkward an uncomfortable and the practitioner did nothing to ease my concerns or address my issues. will be seeking services elsewhere as this place does not do a good job in pain management or respecting it's patients for the amount of money charged. I can get the same services elsewhere for much less with compassionate staff who listen and address all my concerns and issues and leaves me walking away pain free for a bit of time longer than this place also the bruises and "zingers" do not occur at other facilities with real Chinese practitioners they offer limited hours and do not offer weekend appointments.
I receive excellent care from Brodie at The Lotus Center. He listens to my concerns, offers helpful and useful information about the treatment and my health, and provides extraordinary healthcare. I highly recommend The Lotus Center.
I found Brodie and The Lotus Center about 5 years ago in an effort to help with chronic back pain. Not only has acupuncture helped me manage the pain, Brodie's expertise in Chinese medicine, meditation and other health and wellness practices are invaluable to me. The office and treatment rooms are tranquil and the entire staff is fantastic. We're lucky to have a practice like this in Ann Arbor!
The care I've received at The Lotus Center is unprecedented to anything I've ever received at any allopathic doctor's office. Heather is deeply empathetic and caring. She's very patient and takes the time each of her clients needs. She has helped me with everything from pulled muscles and viruses to dealing with my grief after losing my mother. Trish is a very talented, deeply trained massage therapist. Brodie, who owns the Center, has created a unique environment that you can feel the minute you step into the building. All of the therapists are amazing. I give The Lotus Center my highest recommendation.
I have been going to The Lotus Center for 6 years for myself and my daughter (now 14). I have worked with all 3 of the practitioners and they are all excellent. They are all very intuitive, kind, gentle, I have never had pain upon needle insertion. We have some herbs there for my daughter and my husband has done craniosacral therapy there, as well, with Carol with very nice results. This team is very supportive, wholistically, and have seen me through some very difficult life situations. I am very appreciative of their expertise and willingness to listen & help. They are honest in their communication and realistic with treatment goals. If you're looking for some mind/body/spirit support, The Lotus Center is the place to start!
This was my first experience with acupuncture for pain relief. You are asked to sign off on consent for treatment which includes all the possible side effects: bruising, numbness, tingling or aching near needling sites, infection, nerve damage or organ puncture, etc. I had 3 sessions and each time experienced bruising (hematoma) and aching near needling sites on my arm. The bruising sites have not disappeared and hematomas take a few weeks to disappear. I found this to be unacceptable and left a message for Henry to call me back. No response and I have since cancelled appts. By the way, I am currently using a TENS unit for pain relief and wear this during the day. It takes a while for it to be most effective. I would recommend this approach over acupuncture. The unit can be purchased for under $30 as opposed to acupuncture- $155 initial visit and $90 thereafter. I have also become aware of the spiritual component of acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that a universal life force permeates the universe, including the human body and entering through "energy centers" known as meridians. It is believed that imbalances in this energy (yin yang) are what cause illness. The problem with this belief is that there is no such thing as a universal life force, which explains why scientists have been able to prick the skin anywhere in the body - not just the alleged meridians - and bring relief to people.
Wonderful place for acupuncture- it helps get rid of anxiety .
Heather and Brodie are both amazing. I have seen both of them, and they are so knowledgeable, intuitive, and true healers. I have been to 10+ acupuncturists all over the US and Asia and these two are truly some of the best. Love this place. The atmosphere is also SO relaxing :)
My first visit was last year for acupuncture to address neck pain. I was referred to the Lotus Center by a friend who had amazing results with recovery from Bell's Palsy. I see Henry Butchel ( he is wonderful) but I understand the other therapists are very good as well. I have had excellent response with pain control as well as feeling a reduction in stress for days after a treatment. I continued with the treatment, stopped when stable. Then restarted about 6 months ago. I have recommended this center to friends and family. The experience is helpful... and effective.
Thank you Brodie & the entire Lotus Center staff. It can be difficult to heal during the busy holiday season, and your staff is amazing at squeezing patients in so that our path to recovery can begin or progress. Thank you for providing an oasis of comfort and relief when traditional health care often fails. The smile on my face says it all! Thank you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
