List of Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital's Reviews
Doctor pleasant is the BEST doctor, amazing bedside manner, very caring and smart. Love her.
This hospital and the staff deserve zero stars but I have to give at least one to write a review. This is the by far the worst place I have ever dealt with! I personally chose this hospital for how advanced they are but that means nothing if they don’t do their jobs. They are unprofessional, rushed, absolutely no bedside manners, and spend more time laughing with their coworkers then actually treating you. I have been seen multiple times throughout my first pregnancy for multiple issues and each time I have been completely disregarded. They are fast to pump you with fluids and some medication to shut you up but have no issues seeing you back in 3 days to repeat. Don’t expect a diagnosis!! They will let you sit in pain. This hospital is all about their money $$! They are training lots of new people and it appears nobody knows what is even going on in there, save yourself time, money and pain and go to a different hospital so you can be cared for like an actual human.
I had a natural birth in a tub of water at the hospital and baby and i were happy and healthy. The midwives were great but everything else was a really bad experience. People kept coming in the room trying to give me an epidural when i told them i didn't want it. After the birth they told me i had to stay the night. The morning i was packed and ready to go. They said i had to stay one more night because they wanted to monitor my babys weight. We were nursing on a regular basis and despite this they kept trying to give her formula and make me pump. Her weight was totally normal. I told them i was leaving. They threatened calling security. Said I didn't want to do that. Said i was putting the baby at risk. I told them i was not asking their permission. We are both happy, healthy and going home now. We were there two days and nights against my will for no reason. My baby is nursing and gaining weight and we are going home. Get your paperwork ready. The nurse came back in after crying and told me she was so sorry for the way they were treating us. That she knew the way things are at the hospital are so wrong and she was just so sorry and she got a midwife. I told her what was happening and she got my paperwork and cut off the bands and got us out. Went to my pediatrician next day for routine measurements and she was shocked at their behavior and said the baby's weight was totally normal and she was nursing so well. Never again. Good luck to all you mothers out there. I am almost convinced they were trying to make me stay longer to charge my insurance more.
I was born qt this hospital of course before the updates and things but things are always changing. I have most of all health care needs as a child with them. When I became and adult I left but quickly came back . I have had two kids here. My daughter did a week in there Nicuand my Son is doing his time now. I am High risk for many different reason and I wouldn't go anywhere else for the care of my children. Love this place. Yes I have had a few not so good help but more good then Bad and that's what I look at because anywhere you go in life there will be good and bad but which one out ways the other.?
Dr. Fenner is so awesome she makes you feel like you've known her forever she is a Dr. that actually listens to you when you talk to her very personable excellent bedside. I just love her and would recommend her to all women having female issues. The nurses and the surgical team were very pleasant and helpful I had a very pleasant experience. I am heading back for another surgery and hope to have the same experience 😁
NATURAL BIRTH MOMMAS Absolute trash. They shouldn't get one star. My sister went in with a full plan of having a natural birth, she wanted a home birth but due to family issues this wasn't able to happen. She went in probably around 1-2 PM and at about 7pm I got a call from her saying she needed my support, things weren't going right the nurses were rushing her and pushing drugs on her to urge her towards a non natural birth. I got there as soon as I could, I've never witnessed a birth before that day. My sister and I are about a year apart, she is older. Her baby daddy was there too and he had never witnessed a birth either, so we were all very new to this. When I arrived my sister was in the Bath, trying to relax, I stepped in and tried to feel the energy within the room to figure out what was happening, I could see uneasiness in her eyes. I listened to what the doctors had to say for about 15 minutes and found they were giving her absolutely 0 guidance!! None, nothing, it was as if they had never seen a birth or even dealt with a women's body. This is how I felt, I quickly spoke up and started working with my sister, breathing with her, easing her through the contractions. It all came very NATURAL. after about an hour of my sister and I breathing together the doctors came in trying to push her to get an epidural, to do a c section and telling her that there was many issues going on. Nothing seemed honest however. I knew what my sister wanted before she got there, the same thing she has always wanted, a natural birth. And these doctors were trying everything they could to alter that. I stood up to them, spoke up for my sister when she couldn't and told them to leave us alone, that we would call them when the baby was coming. This took hours, the doctors eventually had they're shift switch and we had to go through this all again with a new round of doctors. Morning eventually came, and so did baby. This was when the true battle came to play. I had to fight to keep these doctors back from adding in monitors and cords and all of these absurd things, they wanted to implant an electronic monitor INTO THE BABIES HEAD WHILE STILL INSIDE MY SISTER! Absolutely insane. We didn't allow this to happen, the whole time they were filling our ears with fear tactics, failure tactics all these lies that she wouldn't be able to give birth alone-THE WOMAN BODY IS MADE TO GIVE BIRTH ON ITS OWN. baby came out and then they started to say my sister was losing to much blood, they lied. They lied straight to our faces. She was fine, there will be blood when a baby is born along with some other humanly fluids and tissues and such things. Baby was healthy, we want to keep the umbilical cord attached until it fell off naturally and they force cut the cord. Everything began to move very fast once baby was born, they brought in extra doctors and there was probably about 10+ doctors and nurses in the room. They tried to make a scramble. Create chaos and confusion. They cut the cord and put the placenta in a tub. I said I wanted to keep it, they tried to take it anyway and I said no. I then was focused on my sister who they were trying to convince me was not okay, she was fine however. In that time they put a REPLICA TUB in place of the placenta tub, and took her placenta. They drained the blood from it and 30 minutes later brought it back, I only knew this because I saw it return. I was infuriated. They STOLE my family's blood. To sell, to experiment with for many things. The overall experience was twisted, fear tactics and false pretty much. Don't trust anything these people tell you. KNOW YOUR BODY, tryst your body. Remember the human body has done this forever and the woman's body is made to birth naturally-no drugs cords or knifes nessecary. The birthing system in the hospital is fucked. Never will go back to a hospital. The whole Medical system needs a readjustment.
Very nice place, people so gentle. Thank you!
The term gold standard does not do justice to this institution. The combination of brilliant scientists, researchers, and practitioners provides a level of knowledge unavailable to most of the world, and largely compassionate and ethically-minded staff at every level makes your experience here significantly better than it would be at a typical hospital. I saw these teams perform miracles, and I do not use that word lightly. I was so impressed and grateful at their level of care, that despite having attended university at another Big Ten school, any contributions I make towards a university for the remainder of my life will be going to this hospital. Thank you U of M.
Delivered my first son with great care and amazing nurses. My hubby drove an hour just to deliver my first baby in this hospital. Regardless of the emergency situations I went though in labor, I felt nothing but lucky to have this incredible experience as a first delivery. Great team, high quality service.......... 2 months later after writing the great review, (had to edit my review) Sadly I came to find out that the team actually fractured my baby's collarbone. I spoke too fast. Really really disappointed.
I gave birth to my 2nd daughter here. The medical staff and physicians were kind, knowledgeable and understanding. Rooms were clean and properly stocked. The even had a gaming system in our room in labor & delivery. The reason I had to give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they're either understaffed or just overwhelmed at night. The experience in the daytime versus after hours is much different. Takes the nurses and staff much, much longer to respond to patient requests/needs and I had to ask for simple things like water several times before I received it. The food in general was pretty terrible as well, but it's a hospital so my expectations weren't high. Overall, my experience/overnight stay was great and I would recommend this hospital.
