List of MIchael P Donahue's Reviews
Well, it’s been over 10 years after I unwittingly let Donahue perform 2 unneeded spine surgeries, rendering me, semi-handicapped. After the 1st & 2nd failed surgeries I was diagnosed with FBSS, Failed Back Surgery Syndrome. To walk around for over 2.5yrs w/ allograft, and my own bone graft, not Ever fusing, with twelve 3” screws banging around, damaging nerves0, was so utterly unbearable & painful. Donahue, with the wave of his inexperienced hand, shooed me away, for he just could not figure out why I was in so much pain & he did not care to find out what he did or didn’t do to ruin my spine, not ever apologizing. I’ve have had 2 more failed surgeries, a failed tens unit, acupuncture, numerous steroid injections and needing more, plus numerous pain meds. I’ve missed being a teacher, being a Detroit Zoo Decent, skiing, mountain hiking, housework, gardening, cooking, traveling, running and etc. So Michael when you’re laying in bed at night wondering why you weren’t accepted into a prestigious Troy Ortho Group of Surgeons led by the incredible Dr Easton, think of me, each & every time. After what they saw & learned of your debacle on me, they black-balled you, deservedly so. Stick to ankle surgery....maybe and go back to Las Vegas. With Regret, Debra Lynn McDonald Leonard Village, MI Ps: when traveling, and sightseeing, just a bit now, I need to use a wheelchair. How sad is that? If you look closely at x-ray you’ll see darkness around each bone, which means the grafts did not fuse. I mean I can see that. Why couldn’t he get an opinion from one of about 5 Orthopedic Doctors down the hall?????
Dr. Donahue is a great doctor and he actually cares about his patients. I had surgery for bone spurs on my foot and he is really a great surgeon. I also see Dr. Bartkiw for my hands. They're both the best.
The best back doctor I have ever had!!! He fixed my spine and it is healing beautifully. My scar is minimal and he really took very good care of my spine. He is so kind and very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions that I have. I was recommended to him through my regular doctor and she highly recommended him. Thank you Dr. Donahue for fixing my spine 😊
Doctor Donahue ruined my life. Was suffering from sciatic pain. He claimed his procedure would help, by shooting three small rods into my r side . Well after seeing my regular fabulous Doctor Easton. / He was going to remove one that Donahue said was loose. Little did we know that rod went into my hardwear from a previous surgery from Dr Easton. Doctor Easton said there was no way he could remove it. So he had to brace it down. I’m living in pain 24/7 . Now the pain is going down my leg. I WISH I NEVER EVER MET THAT MAN!! Such a mistake. ! BEWARE!!!!I had scheduled a surgery with Donahue. Claiming he would remove and replace. Thank the lord I went with my gut. Cancelled his surgery and went to Dr Easton. Donahue saw his MRI and knew he couldn’t remove and replace it. Was going to still put me under !!!
Outstanding service, experience and knowledge!
My lower back was so sore after dental assistanting 35 years leaning over. Then I fell on ice and really hurt my lower back. I could hardly walk the pain was an 8-10 all day long. I found Dr. Michael Donahue through a referral from a neighbor. I was instantly impressed my his personality & his experience in the Marines and he worked on a trama team. I was scared to get surgery. Doctor Donahue and Sarah helped me feel comfortable about doing it. I had a lumbar fusion 3 leaves L4, L5, S1. When I came out of surgery, Dr Donahue said my lower back was like a wiggly wheel on a shopping cart. This fusion helped me to walk again without excruciating pain. I am so happy that I found Dr. Donahue. I found out later I needed to work on my neck. Knowing the comfort and care I got from my back. I was not as nervous this time. I highly recommend Dr. Donahue if your walking in pain. Not everyone gets a surgery. He seems to be very knowledgeable, honest and caring. After I had the surgeries I was rear-ended in a car accident. I knew I needed to see Dr. Donahue asap. His office got me in short notice They were there for me once again. I could call the office and Sarah would talk to me on the phone with any of my concerns. Sarah was helpful even when I didn't have an appointment. I thought that was very caring. Thanks Dr. Michael Donahue for helping me!
1 year out of surgery and still have some major complications with my lower back. Not the results expected!
What a great doctor all around!! Very caring and personable .
Worst decision of my entire life was to choosing Michael P. Donahue to do my bunion surgery. Over 2 years and the pain is still keeps me from wearing shoes. One of my incision was infected and bleeding, went to see him. He didn’t give treatment for it. He said to wear a sneakers and go to work on crutches. With an infected and bleeding wound. Had a second opinion the dr said I need to back to Donahue right away for treatment and wound care. I went back to Donahue he said well it’s not that bad to take you to the surgery room and perform another surgery on you with an attitude. Current podiatrist confirmed my toe is off alignment, numbness and nerve damaged across the top so the sneakers is very painful. Scars is obvious and not aligned. I have to have another surgery to correct the damaged he did to my foot. My toe to still leaning towards my middle toe which is causing bunion on my little toe. I wear a size bigger than my regular size in wide sneakers still very painful and numbness Awful 😢. Please do not go to Donahue for your bunion surgery.
Dr Donahue and his Pa Sara were able to tell me what happened to the nerve in my buttocks after a MVA. The other 2 specialist just wanted to send me for surgury and one of them did not want to even treat because it was a MVA. Thanks to Dr Donahue and Sara Im on my way for treatment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
