Bay Shores Senior Care & Rehab Center's Online Review Report Card

I'm not taking it out on everybody that works at bayshore, there are some very sweet ppl that work there...I have a an issue with the treatment my mother is not getting..FIRST OFF MY MOTHER HAS COPD ALL THEY GIVING HER IS OXYGEN,,OXYGEN THERAPY DRIES OUT YOUR LUNGS, SHE NEEDS MEDS TO OPEN UP HER AIRWAYS, WHERE IS THE MEDICINE LIKE INHALERS, BREATHING TREATMENTS ETC, WHERE IS THE SO CALLED DOCTOR TO THIS, ALL I HEAR IS DOCTOR BUT NO NAME OF THE DOCTOR. AND MY MOTHER NEVER SEEN THE DOCTOR OR EVEN KNOW THE DOCTORS NAME...IM PAYING FOR HER ROOM AND BOARD IN THE REHAB, WASTING MONEY FOR STUFF THEY AIN'T DOING..BUT WHEN I SAY SOMETHING..THIS IS WHAT THE DIRECTOR OF BAYSHORE SAYS "SHES FAILURE TO THRIVE, U MINE AS WELL SAY SHE IS DIEING" WELL YEAH IN THE HANDS OF YOU NEGLECTFUL PPL...TRY TO PUT MY MOM IN HOSPICE WITHOUT A DIAGNOSIS, WHICH THE CASE MANAGER AT MCLAREN HOSPICE THOUGHT IT WAS SUSPICIOUS TO WHY SHE IS NOT GETTING ANY MEDS OR ANY TESTINGS DONE, LIKE MRI'S. CT SCANS, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT..GUESS IM GONNA BE GETTING A LAWYER AND HAVE HIM MAKE A TRIP TO BAYSHORE..I MEAN SOMETHING AINT RIGHT WITH THIS PLACE SINCE 10 PPL WERE TAKING OUT OF THERE AND BACK TO THE E.R FOR BREATHING ISSUES, DEHYDRATION AND MALNOURISHED..WHICH IS WHATS GOING ON WITH MY MOTHER BEING THERE

I don’t recommend anyone working , taking patients to bay shore rehab center I believe bayshores Is the worse place to work and take your patients everyone is fake and it’s nothing but drama. The hr lady is rude ignorant and she don’t no what’s she’s doing and she’ll fire you for the dumbest reason all they want is people to work there they don’t care about there employees don’t waste your time applying at bayshores not worth your time to waste

I DO NOT recommend Bay Shores Nursing Care and Rehab facility. I would as well give them a zero if I could .After just leaving my mother , where she was just transferred from Bayshores to Mclaren I noticed that she had an extremely large Bedsore just above her tailbone that is about the size of a half dollar . The area around it was red , swollen and infected. Obviously Bay Shores was not getting my mother up to walk for physical therapy like they said they were. You know for the past week she’s been complaining of low back pain ….they were changing her don’t you think they would’ve seen this?…but NO ONE mentioned the pressure sore…..I wonder why…..well hello , ring , ring …..the size of it and what it looks like doesn’t happen overnight!!!!!!!!Her food was always cold at the facility when it was brought to her. It was also food that she could not eat (she has a full harness collar on her from her neck to her hips due to a T1 compression fracture. Wouldn’t you think that these people would have a clue that my mother needed help with her food being cut up so she would be able to eat it?????Now she sits in the hospital malnourished and is considered a“ failure to thrive“ patient among many other diagnoses. She is extremely dehydrated and now has a feeding tube up her nose. I AM ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!  How can these people at Bay Shores claim to take care of our loved ones????????? I am just disgusted!!!!!!!

I was there for about a month at the end of last year, and they took good care of me and the physical and occupational therapy people were great

They are taking excellent care of my brother. Especially when nothing is normal in the world right now.

I feel like many others.. I f I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The staff seem sweet... yet I feel they lie. My mother was sent there from MidMichigan Hospital. She has a history of filling up with fluid, due to heart failure, sepsis shock... She was admitted this past Wednesday. I had asked when she would be able to see a doctor. I was told "Ohh with in the first 24hrs." Awesome, no problem. Thursday night rolls around, she still has not seen a doctor. Friday morning I call, a nurse said " yes she did look swollen, and should see a doctor with in the first 48hrs of being admitted here." Meanwhile, my mother is in a huge amount of pain, her legs are visible swollen, she has sat in a wheelchair ALL DAY due to this facility not having chairs that recline to elevate as her legs are swollen. Friday, I was feeling hopeful that a doctor would stop in to check on my mom. at 3:30p, she still had not seen a doctor!! I talked to my mom on the phone, as she is in tears because of pain she is in. Begins to tell me, she is so swollen from fluids building up, she does not feel she will make it through the weekend. Friday night I dropped off more clothes to my mother, and spoke to another nurse. Mind you, All nurses had stated doctors also make their rounds on the weekend. Here, we are.. Saturday I called, the nurse states "Doctors do not come in on Saturdays." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I plan on getting my mother out of there, taking to the hospital myself... HOW Incompetent can this place be??

Do NOT send your family here. They will be neglected and not taken care of. Ask around; look at the other reviews. This place is one of the worst around. Should be shut down.

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. They failed to even provide the bare minimum of care for my father and they should be ashamed. While times are hard right now, that is a poor excuse to treat people so poorly, without visitors the staff are their only interaction and some time spent with them is crucial. They made him feel insignificant and not worth their time. We were only allowed to visit through the window which is hard enough. They refused to help him when he asked. He was only there for a month and within that time frame my father became severely dehydrated. What was meant to be a short trip for rehab only created more problems. His mental health took a huge hit from being there as well. This would be the last place I would reccomend for anyone to send their loved ones.

Terrible place. In just 31 days of "rehab" after a cva, my father was discharged home worse than before he went here. It took bay shores 31 days to dehydrate, malnourish and cause muscle atrophy in my dad. We dropped of 4 new outfits that they lost in 31 days. Also, the oxygen needed for home discharge was not even ordered until after my dad was dropped off so he went without O2 for 45 minutes with an spo2 of 88%. They never even bothered to put in the hospice referral that the doctor ordered. I had to call around and figure it out myself. Just a terrible place, please take your loved ones home asap.

A loved one stayed there last year. Many of her ailments were discarded and not taken serious. She was seen more as an annoyance and there was an excuse for any complaint. Some very good CNAs that keep the place afloat and some nurses that were helpful but still make excuses. Discharging from there led to a year long battle we are still fighting. Even a week out from her discharge, they were calling for payment, not even to asking how she was doing once. She was home for 4 days and then went into the hospital for 2 weeks because of everything they ignored. A lot can change in a year with so much staff turnover but please do your research, there are more reliable facilities out there.
