List of Pamela J Basuk Md's Reviews
Dr.Pamela Basuk, Is the best dermatologist in the area if not in New York. My wife was misdiagnosed by the biggest Healthcare System in our area. She felt in her gut something was not right. She reached out to Dr. Basuk was given an appointment the same day. Dr. Basuk correctly diagnosed her potentially saved her life. We are grateful and we highly recommend her. This is a true caring professional.
I had a horrible experience on my last visit with Dr. Basuk in 7/21. I went to see her for a spot on the side of my left foot that she and her colleague, Dr. Corwin had been monitoring every 6 months. When she saw that I wasn't vaccinated for COVID, she spent the majority of my visit lecturing me on the cons of not being vaccinated. I could tell she was mad that I wasn't vaccinated because she asked me why I didn't go to see Dr. Corwin. I was speechless. She looked at my spot and she was so indecisive on whether or not I should get it biopsied, she finally said to see Dr. Corwin in 3 months. Then she did a body scan that literally took her 1 minute to do. What a waste of my copay. I just saw a new dermatologist and he looked at my spot and right away said it was benign and not to worry about it, just to keep an eye to see if it changes, and he spent 20 minutes doing a body scan on me!! What a different experience I had with this visit than with Dr. Basuk. All those visits with Dr. Corwin and Dr. Basuk were so unnecessary. I believe she kept me coming back to get paid from my insurance company. I will be putting a complaint in with my insurance company. Do not go to her. There are so many dermatologists in Suffolk County that will give you a much better, nicer experience.
Receptionists are rude over the phone and in person just rush the process of trying to help you with an appointment. I don't recommend coming here at all especially if it's for your first time.
I waited two weeks for an appointment. I then waited 1 1/2 hours to see her in the exam room. The assistant asked questions about my forms I filled out ahead of time. Dr Basuk rushed in,talked rapidly, fired questions at me and didn't wait for answers. She also mocked me when I told her I do medical research. She took biopsies for a rash on my back and then wanted to freeze a few pre-cancers on my face without examining them. I refused. The following week I received a call from a staff member informing me that my lab results were benign. I still don't know what the rash is and they didn't make another appointment. I'm not going back.
I have been going to see Dr. Basuk for many years. I have never known anything but complete professionalism, and kindness. Her office has always shown me the upmost respect. I have used her products, and will continue to do so .I received a thorough exam , and because she watches over me so well, we caught a precancerous spot on my face that was taken care of. If I wait a little for my appointment, that's ok, because she is worth it. Always caring , and will fit me in when there is a possible problem, as there was this week. Thank you Dr. Basuk and office. I went to the office 2 times, had biopsies done, took a little over 2 hours, then went to have a Mohs procedure for Basal Cell Carcinoma. I told them many times my husband was disabled and home alone. I was the only care taker. Over 3 hours between the surgeon and the plastic surgeon! Eventually both eyes swelled. My hair was sewn into the stitches. Dr. Hassan, plastic surgeon's assistant removed the stitches, missed a few which I removed myself as I will never ever step foot into the office again. BTW they never called to see how I was doing after the surgery, nor did Dr. Basuk call after she was shown photos. Un-bandaged photo shows deformed brow. Dr. Hassan did call a few days later after his assistant remove stitches stating I should have called, What he thought he was going to do, I don't know. Damage was done!
Dr. Basuk is both an outstanding physician and a very warm, caring person. What could be better than a doctor who combines true excellence in her field and the bedside manner of your mom? [I'm assuming you had a mom like my mom -- my mom was awesome.] I appreciate getting "straight talk" from Dr. Basuk too, which I appreciate. I've moved out of state, but she is still taking care of me...
The care and compassion that Dr. Basuk provides is a blessing to all her patients. I don’t feel that she is just looking at my skin, she is checking in on my whole well being. I feel well cared for as someone who has to be checked twice yearly for melanoma. I can honestly say this is one doctor’s office I look forward to visiting because I know no matter what may be found, I will be heard, and I will be helped. Thank you to Dr. Basuk and her amazing and compassionate staff!
I adore Dr. Basuk. I have been a patient of her since I was a teenager (I’m now in my 40’s). She is thorough and kind. She is very knowledgeable even about my autoimmune conditions that are not directly related to my skin. Yes, sometime there is a wait but not always. Even when there is I don’t mind; it’s totally worth it. Some of these reviews are mean. She has her eccentricities, but so does everyone; it’s part of her charm. I definitely recommend her.
Dr. Basuk is an awesome dermatologist and has a great bedside manner. I recently had an appointment with her and she is highly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I only had one visit with her years ago and for my recent visit she approached me as if I was her long time friend. I highly recommend Dr. Basuk for dermatology and laser surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
