Phillip Gaca Do's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Gaca takes the time to listen to your medical issues and best practices to get through any illness. Plus, he only has extra testing done when he feels it is necessary.

I have been a patient of Dr. Phil since he graduated from MSU's medical school and first opened his medical practice. From the start of our physician-patient relationship, Dr. Gaca has gone above and beyond to help me maintain a healthy life style. As I have aged, Dr. Phil has been there to see me through the difficult times with good information and treatments that work for me. If I have a medical issue or medical question, Dr. Gaca responds within a few hours. Dr. Gaca has a real-world sense of humor when it comes to medical advice. I like that he is able to take complex medical concepts and winnow them down into layman's terms of comprehension. Dr. Gaca demonstrates compassion when needed and solid advice during the challenging moments when I really don't need things to be sugar coated. The very fact and he has retained his staff for decades speaks to his professional approach to medicine. He has practiced medicine long enough to have developed a wide array of competent specialists for referral when medical issues dictate that a specialist is required. I unequivocally recommend Dr. Phil to anyone who wants an extremely knowledgeable, caring and available doctor. JHesse PhD

Dr. Gaca has provided me with information on my health issues. He has taken the time to find out resolutions to my diagnosis. He follows through with ideas to my health care plan. He has taken the time to return my calls when I needed explanations. He has never rushed me when I have an appointment with him. Patients come first in Dr. Gaca's practice of medicine.

I was a patient of Doctor Gaca for over 20 years. When he decided to go MD VIP I found another doctor, unfortunately. I truly miss Doctor Gaca and Pam who took great care of me through the years. You guys were great. Thanks to you both!

I have been a patient of Dr Phillip Gaca for over 20 years and have liked dealing with him and most of his staff. But I have to find a new doctor since he is now a concierge physician with a $1,800 annual fee not covered by my insurance. No wonder health care is so expensive in this country thanks to organizations like "MDVIP". So very sad and disturbing. I'm feeling dumbfounded by the fact that I have said to multiple persons over those 20 years that I have always liked seeing Dr. Gaca. What a naive fool I have been. I guess everything is about money anymore and without loads of cash you're nothing. Loyalty clearly means nothing anymore.

AMAZINGLY KIND and CARING! I have seen Dr. Gaca since moving back to Michigan in 2012, He takes his time to listen and hear what the patients needs are. Dr. Gaca has always been understanding and proactive in his treatment and not let outside influences distract his ability to treat his patients. The staff there has always been friendly and professional and Kind, I leave feeling like family as they all seem to genuinely care about the people they help.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Gaca for over 20 years now. Years ago it was a primary care practice with a PA & full staff. Affiliated with Metro, but still stand alone. We have seen the doctor dozens of times over the years for general check ups, lab work, diagnostics, medications & more. The doctor is quick, but thorough. His staff is polite & friendly. In the last year the practice has transitioned to a MD VIP concierge style practice affiliated with The Cleveland Clinic. There is more emphasis on yearly testing, early diagnosis, quick treatment& healthy living. So...prevention vs. post disease state. The PA (Pam) who used to be there left, miss her a lot - she was great. Most of the rest of the staff (a few left) is still there & the place functions seamlessly. We feel the new set up allows for fewer patients & more time with those who remain active patients (the new program costs more to be a patient there). We like having more openings to see the doctor. Four stars.

My husband is a complex patient with many chronic conditions so, we can say our care has been solid throughout the years and remain with him. Dr. Gaca and his team have been good for us. Thank you.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Gaca's for over 20 years now. We are typically able to get in and get an appt. in a timely manner and see the doctor for as long as needed. Good follow up on lab results and necessities of further testing when called upon. After hours emergency contacts available too. The staff is polite, friendly and knowledgeable too. The practice has had some changes in the past year - going from a traditional stand alone practitioner with PA and staff to a more concierge style model. Office appointments are now longer and even more detailed and further wellness prevention in place. That's a good thing. We like the new layout better - the patient and doctor are less rushed and have much more time to truly help the better gain better health. On site lab draws is a plus. Miss the PA who used to be here - she was excellent too. The other two reviews posted here may have some validity based upon what they experienced. But, that is just two reviews out of thousands of patients seen by this practice over the years. No place is perfect, but this Doctor and his staff do try hard to take care of all their patients. Recommend you try Dr. Gaca and his new MD VIP style concierge style primary care practice before you assume the negative as the other reviewers did.

I was with this Dr for 30+ yrs and then changed his practice for some preventive care,which would cost $1800.00 a yr to stay with him in the program on top of insurance and deductibles.Just to help you get healthier and Better.Isn't that what was suppose to be done all along with my Care ? Moving on to a New Dr.can't afford to pay anymore for Less.The New office staff is not very knowledgable or caring like the Older Ones who were friendly and listened.New billing department can't even get it Right.Months before you get a Bill and then they want it Yesterday.Dr.Gaca needs to do a evaluation on his Employees!
