Neil Goodman Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Goodman man is more focused on making money than helping his patients. The first conversation I had with Dr. Goodman and his staff was that if we were not covered by our insurances that we would not processed because we could not afford the expenses out of pocket. I was lied to about insurance coverage by his staff (Rachel) among others on multiple occasions. I was told that I was covered to later find out that my insurance did not cover fertility. They also refused to take our secondary gap insurance that would have covered some of the charges. After confronting them about the situation they advised they would change the patient code in order for my insurance to cover it, I was confused but they seemed like they wanted to help us. Several month later we started to receive bills ranging from $500 to $1500. I have contacted the manager of the clinic (Rachel) on multiple occasion to resolve the issue. She is a liar and unethical, telling us that we were told that we would have to go out of pocket from the beginning and that they had told us that our insurance didn't cover fertility from the beginning. They are completely unprofessional, unethical, unhelpful and liars.

Dr. Goodman is the most caring physician in the area, maybe even the state. He takes time to explain things and is very accessible no matter when you need him.

Dr. Goodman was extremely informative during my consult with him and was even very personable. He is extremely pleasant to speak with and you get the feeling that he does value you as a patient and take your issues seriously.

I spent lot years with Dr . Goodman at one point had problem with Baldwin staff an had get new Dr. Went back.let him know I beat my cancer. He saw me from office an said nice hairdo. I was almost bald from treatment. Have same birthday as his wife. He is a great Dr. Sorry I couldn't have stay with him. But found another great Dr. Thank you for helping me through hardest part of my life.

My neurosurgeon located in West Branch asked that my provider, then Dr. Goodman, to please schedule an MRI on my back as Big Rapids was closer. Dr. Goodman refused. What kind of doctor refuses to schedule a test? He does get an A+ in being rude and condescending that day. Chalk this up to another patient that has moved on to another practice.

I have been with Dr. GOODMAN for almost 10 yrs. Now. He is by far the Best Doctor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about how I'm doing. He doesn't rush you. I love the whole practice everyone is so nice and makes you feel like a person not just a file number. He has helped me through so much. I will forever be grateful and blessed to have found such an amazing Doctor.

Recently moved to the Big Rapids area and needed to choose a new PCP. I am very happy with Dr. Goodman. I love his casual approach to explaining things. He’s very genuine and doesn’t come off all ‘business’ which is refreshing!!

I Do Not recommend Dr Goodman at all. I used to be a patient of Dr Goodman for several years. He made statements several times like "if you were my wife I would have you do this or that" I would never want to be his wife. I got tired of hearing that. Granted doctors can have bad days, after all they are only human and are in Practice. My respect for Dr Goodman slowly went downhill, bu after a car accident on 6/18/2018 which I sustained a traumatic brain injury, torn ligaments in my neck and left shoulder and spinal injuries PTSD and bleeding in the retina of my right eye...... i was told to see my PCP, which was Dr Goodman, so I could get some help in my home. I had left my husband due to abuse on 5/27/2018 and had a Male friend of my families for 20 years take me to Dr Goodman a couple days after my accident. I was still in shock and did not even know the extent of my injuries at that time. My friend was a witness to what Dr Goodman did to me. I asked him if he was even going to examine me after I told him every where I was in pain, he was not even going to examine me. He pressed very hard on.my left clavicle and it hurt really bad. He took my left arm and turned it in a big circle 2 times. It hurt so bad I couldn't speak. I couldn't wait to leave, it was like torture. I am 63 years old and already had arthristis and narrowing joint space in that shoulder. He may have torn the ligaments in my shoulder by what he did. I did go back and saw his physicians assistant a couple weeks later and she ordered a MRI of my brain, which no one ever called me back to set up an appointment for. I finally was told by an attorney to go to Michigan Spine Nd Pain in Mt Pleasant. My insurance company required paperwork from Dr Goodman. I called his office and told the receptionist what I needed and what Dr Goodman did to me. She said I needed to talk to the office mngr and I did. It took several phone calls and 2 messages I sent through their medical portal online to receive my paperwork from the office. Then it was jus not sufficient to get help from my auto ins. Co. The last time I spoke with the Male office mngr for Primary Health Care, he said very rudely "that's all you're going to get"... it was difficult several times to get records that I needed from that practice. Dr Goodman was really good at first, and helped me several times with my complicated problems with allergies to medications., but our Dr-patient relationship went steadily downhill. He and his P.A. both gave me scripts for antibiotics that I was allergic to. I stopped them and made them change the scripts. I found a different physician. Although there were some really kind, understanding and gentle staff at the PHC office. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Also, I am diabetic and Dr Goodman never checked my feet. I think I went to him for about 3 years. I have PTSD and Adjustment Dosorder. Melinda Mckillip

I have been to Dr Goodman every 3 mo for the last few years. Love him and all the staff. Everything I had him work on turned out perfect. I will always recommend Dr Neil Goodman.

I highly recommend Dr. Goodman. You get the feeling your his only patient when he comes in the room. He listens intently, is responsive to all our questions, and his treatment recommendations for my elderly father are spot on, and make sense. He returns my phone calls promptly and goes above and beyond to make it convenient for me to manage my dad health care long distance. Dad and I love Dr. Goodman! He truly cares and it shows. If I could rate him 10 stars I would!
