If there is a better neurosurgeon in Oakland County. I haven’t heard about him or her. In my opinion, Dr. croissant is the best there is. He has helped me, and my family members, with back problems. And to top it all off. He’s a really good human being. It doesn’t get any better than that.
A terrible surgeon, this man is a hack. He has only been a neurosurgeon for 20 years and he must be 70, he has ruined my life forever!

I was born with Hydrocephalus in 1980. I was 6 weeks premature. When I was 10 days old, Dr. Croissant placed an automatic shunt in my head. I was told that, he and his partner in medicine created my shunt and that I was one of the first to have it placed. I have had a total of 3 surgeries since then, only one shunt replacement when I was 24 years old. Dr. Croissant is the only neurosurgeon that has operated on me. I literarily trust this man with my life. I will always , ALWAYS be grateful that I have received such great care from such a talented doctor.
Dr. Croissant saved my life in 1981. Post surgery, he told my parents and myself, he didn't know the extent of the damage and whether I would walk normally again ...HAHA I was walking within 2 months, normally took a couple of moths after that. (2 aneurysms One caused a stroke, the second was existing and he gave my parents(me) the choice of doing a procedure to hopefully, at that time to do a good job of preventing another stroke... Here, again, 35+ years later, it still holds and I have never had another "thunderclap" headache to date ). He also saved my lifestyle and quality of life greatly, again in 2012 (cervical spine surgery). He also saved my former husband's quality of life 3 times with lumbar surgeries over the years I was present for all 3.. ). I would trust him with any and all information regarding my health and what direction to take.
Dr. Croissant was my neurosurgeon for all of my childhood and most of my adult life in managing and addressing my condition. I can't recommend him enough for both his professional skill and how much he truly cares for his patients. Doctor Croissant's level of compassion, care, and skill will forever be the benchmark I compare other healthcare professionals to.
He messed my father up and missed the tumor and told us he doesn’t have brain cancer. Run from this doctor. We had him transferred to Henry Ford in Detroit.
My father had a brain tumor and Dr. Croissant was doing the surgery. He went in twice to drain the fluid. He did the surgery and came back and said he didn’t have a tumor. He missed the tumor by a centimeter. We had him transferred to Henry Ford and a doctor did the surgery and he had stuff in the brain that he started bleeding and didn’t tell us that happened. The new doctor couldn’t believe he did that to my father. Run from this doctor. Don’t let him touch your loved ones.
Had an emergency back surgery 2 months ago after falling 35’ off a roof and bursting my L3 vertebrae. The surgery he performed was extremely risky and it was very likely that I may lose complete functionality in my right leg and possibly my bowel function as well. Luckily for me Dr. Croissant was at St. Joes that day and saved me from losing function in anything. I’m am currently 2 months out from my emergency surgery and I feel great, probably around 90%, and with a little more PT I feel that I will be 100% in the somewhat near future. I can never thank him enough for taking on my surgery and for going to bat for me when he felt things weren’t done appropriately by some of the other staff there. Dr. Croissant may come off as a little bit relaxed or uncaring but it’s my belief that it’s the confidence in his abilities as well as his straightforward answers that give it that feeling, although I’m thankful for both. #thankful #grateful #bestneurosurgeon #bestdoctor #straightshooter
Dr.Croissant is the best! My son in law fell 25 feet from a roof and broke his neck! With a prayer and a blessing(Dr. Croissant) this Father of four is doing great!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
