I told him I got panic attacks and he responded by upping my drugs to which I responded telling him please no more drugs then I have to take because I rather bear the attacks. And he responded by yelling at me why are you even in here? So I began apologizing saying sorry over and over. And he still went on yelling at me do you want to get better or no! I was involuntary admitted to for a suicide attempt. He is by far the most unkind and uncaring physician I have ever met in my entire life. He knew I was involuntarily admitted for a suicide attempt and thought berating me was some how appropriate. Why was I in his office, as if I had a choice! As if I did not have legitimate health needs. No, he would rather chemically lobotomize you because he can. Needless to say, I left his office with a terrible panic attack. He has no sympathy for those whom he sees as beneath him. He causes unnecessary stress to people already dealing with medical problems.
It was like a assembly line in his office. He just got you in and out to collect a check in my opinion. He was no help at all!
Apparently is superhuman and can make incredible judgements in 5 minutes before dismissing you. Don't waste your time and find a better doctor for your care.
Dr. Singhal is one of the rudest most arrogant, pompous physicians I have ever met in my entire life. He is grossly impolite and has absolutely no bedside manner. To say he is a terrible and horrible physician would be giving him a compliment he simply does not deserve.
Dr. Singhal is one of the rudest most arrogant, pompous physicians I have ever met in my entire life. He doesn't care why you are in his clinic, you would be lucky to get an appointment that lasts more than 10 minutes. How would you know enough to establish care with a patient after less than 10 minutes? Funny how he has other patients writing reviews telling other people to "seek a therapist" to talk out your problems. While a psychiatrist is not responsible for providing CBT or talk therapy, he still should care enough to know WHY a patient is going through what they are going through. What if the patient's mental health issues were brought on by a tragedy or some other traumatizing experience? It doesnt matter because Dr. Singhal couldnt care less. Psychiatrists are trained to show compassion and empathy towards their patients. He cut me off multiple times and asked me "Why are you even here?" Never once asked me if I had suicidal ideations or a plan when i was crying in his off
Got reffered here from my doctor, for someone looking to get help, I would look elsewhere. Growing up medication was one thing parents didn't want us on, now as an adult seeing medication as bad. I can't remember to take medication or forgot or don't want to take it at all. I came in and told them I wasn't taking my medication due to a pandemic closing everything down, was told at anytime I could get medication. After coming back after months of not getting medication or taking it. I was told "Then Why Are You Here? " For someone who is suppose to be giving me the help I need instead of always just giving me medication. I have yet to get the help I need.
He’s a crook and should not be allowed to practice. His threats to take what he wants prescribed or says you’ll never get out of inpatient there’s not enough justice system in the world with integrity or honor to fire this guy and they should retire him.
Dr. Singhal is the ABSOLUTE WORST PHYSICIAN IN MY OPINION!!! My son was under his care ( or lack there of) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for five weeks. My son didn’t really improve much while under his care. I called the hospital and left messages for him to call back and he never bothered. He never took the time to reach out to my son’s regular doctor to try to get any information about his treatment. He put him on medication that he clearly never used before. The medication that my son used prior worked well for him, however I guess Dr. Singhal never took the time to do any due diligence in respect to his patient. He even planned on releasing my son when he was clearly in a psychotic state because he was frustrated ( per a nurse on duty) I really don’t feel like he cares much for his patients. He clearly wants to drug them up on whatever, whether it works for them or not!!! I would never recommend this doctor to anyone! I’m sorry my son had the misfortune of being his patient!!!
I Highly Recommend Dr. Y. Singhal. Dr. Y. Singhal Has Been My Doctor Since. The Year Of 1987.
I don't know what some people are looking for in a doctor in this field. If you need to sit and discuss your problems, that is not what he is there for. He takes care of the medical needs. Find a therapist or a social worker for your talk therapy. He is listening to you and paying more attention then your aware of. It is not his job to get tied up into everyone's emotions. He has been my doctor for over thirty years and I trust him fully. If you end up in a crisis, you want someone like him available to you. He has also been my son's doctor for about 20 years. He is not in it for the money....he hardly needs your money! That statement is just silly. Anyway, I think he is tops in the field. Also, yes Sue is a sweetheart!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
