Bear River Health's Online Review Report Card

Unfortunately I trusted this place with my sobriety needs and upon discharged was no given all of my belongings. As they were giving me my belongings they handed me a paper asking me to sign it and then I noticed she back dated it. When I asked why she said it was the transfer paper from the detox facility agreeing that I had all of my belongings. Which was never even an option. So when I asked where my other belongings were she this was all they received from the detox center. And because that paper was backdated I no longer had proof that it wasn’t sent over. So when I called the detox they of course had nothing of mine left there. I lost about $1000 worth of items. I tried calling and sent emails and tried reaching out to anyone and everyone at the facility. After being passed around for several months I gave up. Which Is what my brother did when his belongings were missing and several friends that have unfortunately had experiences with this facility. How sad to take advantage of people when they are at their most vulnerable point in life. I would give zero stars if I could.

I am leaving this now before I proceed with my request for detox/bed date .I rate two stars one for the feed back iv got from graduated clients I know, and one for the facility staff and counselors.

Thank you for detoxing my son. It’s the best thing for him. However after Detox he was put in a room with 2 other men. One of which was still using and his room got raided and the guy threw the stuff in the garbage which was never found durning the search. However the guy who had it took it out of the garbage and started smoking whatever it was he was hiding. Not sure how my son was put with someone who has the ability to leave and come back. Then weekends are down time. He got put there in the mainstream after detox for 3 day basically with nothing to do except go to the school and call me and use the computer. I believe if he had been kept busy on the first 3 days to not just sit and think and think and think, I believe he wouldn’t have wanted to leave after a total of 9 days. Very concerned a relaps is coming. I think this place is good as long as you keep them busy on the weekends and no roommates that can leave. Again thank you for helping in the step toward sobriety, however keeping an addict busy would be a benefit. Thank you concerned Mom

This place is life changing highly recommended.Clean rooms nice bed staff is absolutely amazing food is good.Thank you bear river health you have changed my life. I appreciate you all..

This place is ok once you have your head wrapped around sobriety. Some of the facilitators were really helpful. Some parts of the website are a complete lie. I was even told by staff it is just for marketing. This place isn’t on Walloon Lake. They can walk you to the public beach on the lake, it depends on the facilitator. The thing about WIFI is a joke you can’t have anything to use the WIFI with unless you are at the detox building. I was assured on the phone that I would be able to have access to my phone at times to handle personal affairs. For example divorce attorney, home sales, and things of that nature. Not a chance! Talk to your case manager they say. Then they will tell you it is out of their hands. I would like to thank Keith, Ryan, Jeremiah and Flip. They did a great job with me. If you are homeless and don’t have anything going on outside of life other than court hearing and medical visits it would be a fine place to go to get a fresh start. If you have any type of life with adult responsibilities I would find somewhere else to go. You should also plan on 3 people per room. The beds are ok and with the right roommates it can be clean. Overall you can get sober there with the right attitude. Don’t be fooled by the picture of a single bed in a room and the picture of the condo on the lake. That is not a Bear River Health building. In whole it is just as rough as any rehab with the same problems. Very disappointed in the way it is marketed but I did get sober there. Watch your clothes in the laundry room or they may walk off. That’s the real story of Bear River!

I am so grateful for what BRH provided to me regarding tools, coping skills, and a comfortable environment to gain knowledge. My life will forever be changes and most definitely for the better. There is always opportunities to grow and learn and for BRH it is no different. Yet in my experience, maximum effort was put in by every team member and across the board! Thank you BRH for holding me steady as I began this new life. I am eternally grateful! Thank you!

I truly cannot articulate in words how grateful I am for this facility! I was in active addiction for 20+ years, I completed the 90 day program. I've been to several facilities and I recommend this one over any I've been to. I genuinely can say that BRH has saved my life, The staff was very kind, everyone I came in contact with there was professional and seemed to care about my wellbeing. I since transitioned to a sober living house and I could not be happier with the progress I've made in my recovery. Thank you so very much Bear River Health !!

Bear River Health definitely made a huge impact on my life and was where the turning point started in the road to my recovery. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They are very professional and the staff there is amazing. Most Rehabilitation treatment facilities just want your money this place truly cares about each and every one of there clients and treats them each accordingly. Thank you Bear River for making such an impact on my life and my thought process and how I choose to live today. 5 Stars for sure!!!

Bear River is AMAZING. Going there was the best choice I ever made, it changed my life. The energy all around is so beautiful words cannot describe. Staff there actually care about the residents, and assist with each and every resident to work towards accomplishing the next step in the right direction to obtaining the coping skills that help many in successfully living in long term recovery. I would recommend to anyone to go to The Bear. If you let it, it will change your life.
