List of Brighton Health Center's Reviews
I was not impressed with the care I received. I have total hearing loss in 1 ear and the other has been declining. They had zero knowledge of a hearing restoration surgery done years ago in another country that I brought up. All they did was a run of the mill hearing test you can get for free at hearing centers, told me my 1 ear was perfectly fine (It's not) and billed me over $500. Insurance got approx half. I waited 3 months for an appointment that cost me almost 2 days pay that was just a complete waste of my time. Services in the past have had the billing process be a complete disaster. Screwing up mailing invoices and then I get a letter 4 years later from a collection agency that is so crooked that the BBB dropped accreditation. It's telling for a company that uses companies like this.
Poorly run clinic with at least one doctor who's so ill-informed and that he shouldn't be licensed to practice.
Fantastic medical center! Efficient and friendly staff! Clean facility!
I have never had a bad experience at this clinic.
I love this place, I feel like it's one of the best Michigan Medicine campuses! I've been going here for years and the building has always been clean, the staff is so kind and compassionate, and they take their COVID safety precautions very seriously. Dr. Young is probably the best OBGYN I've ever seen and I owe so much of my reproductive health to her! The last time I was in, they also had suicide prevention posters up for those who may be in distress, which I LOVE as someone from a psychology background. These posters included a link to online mental health resources and a phone number to either call or text in an emergency. This is something I'm so proud to see from a health system that I see so many specialists from! Thank you for your care and compassion, Michigan Medicine!
Updated: Unfortunately I have had to transfer my daughter to another facility. I LOVE the doctors here. Our issue was that getting an appointment here impossible. My daughter had a routine checkup for her 18 month appointment. She got scheduled late into the month so she was almost 19 months and then they canceled and then couldn’t get her in until she was almost 20 months! That’s ridiculous! It was for her 18 month appointment! And if your child is ever sick don’t ever think you’ll get in to for an appointment. It shouldn’t be so difficult to see a doctor for your child which is why we had to look elsewhere. It’s so unfortunate because the doctors are fantastic but you’ll never see them. We love Brighton Health Center! My daughter goes here and we love her pediatrician. Everyone is friendly, it’s clean and fast!
Vanessa Scowden is the finest, most knowledgeable and proactive physician I've ever had. She's extremely intelligent, competent, well versed in current studies, and comprehensive. She's also kind and treats me with dignity. 5 stars!
I don't like writing bad reviews, however I think this issue will not be addressed until more people speak out. This is the second time this happened to me in four days. First I emailed through the portal to get an appt for my son as he has been ill. I did not hear back for two days so I called. I was given to the Nursing line and then hung up on after a 20 minute wait. I called back to the number that is posted and the lady got me directly to the nurse and made an appt for that day. After that appt he began to show more symptoms and I again emailed the NP and called the office. This time I was on hold to speak to the nurse for 1 hour 20 minutes and then hung up on by the nurse Marcy when she asked is this call is for me or another person and I answered for my son. During my wait time I called again and spoke to the front desk and the woman said that this is a normal wait time as they are extremely busy. I emailed at 8:07am and called at 8:12am in the morning and the system said it was a 12 minute wait. This is not true. I am extremely frustrated with this system and the nurses hanging up on me not once but twice before I can even get out what I am calling about. This is awful customer service and needs to change. Everyone is busy today however this is rude and ridiculous for patients to have to deal with this behavior.
Todd is by far one of the greatest people I have ever met in my whole life. He is one of those people that you look back and are happy to have met. Mackenzie (Not positive if that was her name), lady with the flower hat, is also one of those people! I was going in for a surgery and had some MAJOR anxiety. They both went out of their way to comfort me. Todd stopped by periodically throughout my entire visit to check on me, just to see if I was okay. He shared a story of his own, which helped put me at ease. Of course my surgeon was great, Dr. Hughes. I am very pleased with my overall experience, and appreciate the staff very much.
Google "Brighton urgent care" and this was the third result. They do not have an urgent care. When I tried to call before coming it said to expect over 30 minutes waiting on hold. So I just drove over as that is faster.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
