List of Gilleran Jason Md's Reviews
I had a bladder suspension surgery with Dr Gilleran. He was extremely thorough prior to surgery explaining everything and postop he made sure that I was progressing as I should be and he answered questions/ concerns at my postop visit making sure I had a clear understanding of my postop recovery. Office staff very responsive to my calls as well for appointments when needed
Dr. Gilleran is a fine urologist. He helped me solve a very tough situation. He is my friend for life.
I saw Dr. Gilleran for a suspected UTI. He wanted to give me a particular prescription. I had concerns about that medication due to a common side effect but my knowledge on the topic was limited. I asked if he could tell me more about the possibility of that side effect and if there was another medication that would be as effective. This seemed to bother him quite a bit. He asked with a negative tone if I had read this on the internet. I said I had heard it from a friend who has frequent UTI’s. I kept my tone and words mild & not confrontational. All of a sudden he turned and went out the door in frustration. He had not been in the room very long. The nurse arrived as I tried to figure out what had just happened and the two of us had to try and wrap up the appointment and work out my next steps. Through the nurse, he did provide an alternative medication but did not speak with me again. I will avoid seeing this doctor again in the future.
I had made an appointment with Dr.Jason Gilleran for September 23rd at 1:45 pm. The receptionist said they would send me forms in the mail to fill out, which I never received. When I called to cancel my appointment, the receptionist said she didn't see me on the schedule ,and that the doctor is never there on Wednesdays, only Thursdays. This interaction already indicates a red flag on behalf of the receptionist!
He is a very good doctor. Kind and pays close attention to questions you have. Also, he is not opposed to doing testing based off of your own research. I highly recommend him if you have complicated or rare urological issues as well as minor issues. He does seem busy, but busy doctors are the good doctors so I wouldn't judge him based off of that.
He is caring and makes you feel like you are his only patient. Although he is very busy and often is dealing with many issues, when he steps into your room you are the only one he cares about. He leaves the decision making to you after he gives all the options, side effects and additional information, he makes sure you do not have any questions and that you understand everything you have been told. If you ask for him to give you his opinion he answers as he would for his family even if it is not the popular answer. He is brilliantly smart and talented if anything his actions could be misread as scattered but it is his brain working 500 miles an hour to get the best solution for you.
In general, I love Comprehensive Urology, especially compared to MIU. Dr. Gilleran is the only physician in the group who I've had a negative experience with. I found him to be rude and condescending.
Rude and inconsiderate just as another patient said. He actually yelled at me. However, I do not find his yelling that uncommon when it comes to physicians of his age group at Beaumont. I have been yelled at by other physicians in the Beaumont system. i think the Beaumont system puts horrible pressure on physicians to spend as little time as possible and create a quickly in and quickly out approach. It is run like a corporation and I think it is very dangerous and makes physicians unhappy.
Dr. Gilleran is kind and patient. He did a surgery on my mom and she is feeling great! He was so nice and spent a lot of time talking to my mom and answered all of her questions. He explained the procedure and expected recovery in great detail. We knew exactly what to expect.
I had a ureteral reimplantation surgery by Dr. Gilleran. He is an excellent Physician and surgeon. He is very conscientious, caring, personable and energetic. I highly recommend him. -Nancy Hoffman, Farmington Hills, MI

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
