List of Mertz Thomas Md's Reviews
Worst experience I have ever had in my life. No bedside manner or respect. I was shocked and the look on the shadowing med student was also speechless.
Dr. Mertz was dismissive of my concerns and seemingly unable to return a phone call. Worst experience ever with a physician.
I first saw Dr. Mertz a year ago for grace blood in urine. When I went to my appointment there was lots going on in the office and nobody at the front desk. He was extremely rude, did some tests and I was on my way. I never heard back from their office. I have seen my internist and he never mentioned anything until I asked. I was to get another test done but Dr. Mertz never gave me the order. So I make the appointment at the farther office because they could get me in 7 weeks. I show up, all prepped by the nurse. The doc comes in and is extremely rude, unprofessional and treated me like a piece of old gum on the sidewalk. He also had a student with him. He yelled at me. Didn’t do the procedure because he said I neglected to get something done. He never gave me anything ever. So he wrote a rude note for me to give another doc I will see. I wouldn’t recommend him for anything. My internist said he is great at what he does. My response was that he is a crappy human being. I was horrified and disgusted in his behavior. I very rarely get my feathers ruffled or get angry. I think it’s time for him to hang up his medical license.
Terrible Doctor. Don't consider him for any urological issues. I was told to bring my disc from an MRI and a copy of the radiologist report. When I had my appointment with Dr. Mertz, he didn't even look at either one. Told me he wasn't good at reading MRI's. What kind of Dr. says that to a patient? After my appointment, he never followed up or gave me any further instructions.
Rude, Does not look you in eye, Not good with the elderly, Does not let them finish their sentence, Girls in his office are nice, but you are unable to have their direct phone number, all calls are routed through a call center. UGH!!Nightmare!!But parents are elderly and just hoping Dr. Mertz will retire very soon!!
Times worse is the worst doctor that I have ever come across he's very unprofessional he's very rude and very Curt
It never hurts with Mertz!
Dr. Mertz might be a good Dr but he will not answer questions, he is rude, dismissive. I have never met anyone who has such an ego. He needs to go back to school and learn compassion and what bedside manner is.
The specialists may be good, but the office is very poorly managed. My mother's UTI was diagnosed by Urgent Care - GP Urology repeatedly dropped the ball on follow up. Hospital admission, treatment, and antibiotic correction ensued - all not charted properly by GP Urology. Office staff is unprofessional, disorganized and uncaring = DANGEROUS.
Staff proessionalism so bad I"ll never know if Dr. Mertz is the best in the world or not. With over charge, not sending pre visit info, now to tell me at the time of appt. that I need call my Dr. office to try to get another ref. I took off work for this.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
