List of Punithavathy Vijayakumar's Reviews
Who has the time to wait an hour to see the doctor? I would recommend another neurologist unless you have time to sit in a small room and wait an hour.
But my experience with the office staff was great. Very organized, kind and empathetic.
The staff was fast, friendly and courteous. Dr. Vijayakumar was very patient and listened to all of my concerns.
I am taking treatment for RLS from 2015. Now I have no problem. She is very nice to the patient. Rajamohan
Very nice with patients. Right diagnosis.
I've left 3 messages with her scheduling service and have not received a call back. I would suggest finding a different Doctor with a better customer service team.
Worst neurologist (and doctor) I've ever seen. Came in with various neurological issues that have arisen over the past several months, and ordered several MRIs and blood tests for me. She was very nice and I thought highly of my first visit with her. I then left and got the appropriate tests over the next week. Meanwhile, the symptoms I had definitely worsened and became borderline unbearable. At the follow-up, Dr. Vijayakumar told me that the scans were negative that I "should not come back unless new symptoms appear" even though I told her my current symptoms were getting worse. She just told me take some vitamins and sent me on my way! Her staff refused to even give me any neurologist referrals on my way out. Then, her office called me a week later, saying that Dr. Vijayakumar "missed" a test she said I previously I didn't need, and lied about speaking with my primary care physician. I later found out that she did not order 7 blood tests that she should have ordered as well and neglected to perform numerous other diagnostic tests. I'm glad I'm getting much better care elsewhere. TLDR: Incompetent receptionists and a negligent neurologist who stops caring about you after the first visit. Dr. V is awful at both diagnostics and treatment, though she may seem nice/friendly. Would give zero stars if I could.
Dr. Punitha Vijayakumar truly impressed me when I saw her a few times for some of the health issues that I had for over 6 years. I was very satisfied and appreciate her thoroughness and dedication to me. I recommend her to others as it is hard to find a good and experienced neurologist around. I like Dr. Vijayakumar for her experience and compassion.
Dr. Vijayakumar is one of the most caring, experienced, and smart physicians I have seen. She is very thorough and gets the diagnosis right. More than anything else, she listens and tries to understand my problem, unlike other places where I have been to with a fast-food experience. This is important for me to get my prescription right. I was lucky to have her services and I do recognize some wait time, but it is all worth it as I did not have to live with the issue that bothered me for a very long time. I recommend her for others and plan your visit with some flexibility so that you can spend the right amount of time with the Physician.
Don’t waste your time . They expect you to make sure you give plenty of notice if you need to reschedule but when I book my appointment 8 months out and get a call 2 days prior and took a half a day off I hear giggling on the phone like it’s funny! And then I ask about my topamax medication and I’m told if I don’t come in right away I can’t get refills! First of all my appointment was booked for 8 months why didn’t you call me sooner to reschedule ? I have planned meetings all week it’s not alwa

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
