List of Steven Stryk's Reviews
Dr. Stryk came recommended to me by the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) when I first relocated back to Ann Arbor from the SF Bay Area in 2017 after being diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID), and I'm so grateful they steered me his way. Although Dr. Styrk is best known for his treatment of pediatric allergy patients, he was a long-time internist and ICU physician. As such, he has a width breadth of medical knowledge. Dr. Stryk manages my CVID, but he's also well versed in my other conditions, which is impressive considering most of these conditions are rare autoimmune diseases with which many of my other doctors have been wholly unfamiliar. Whenever he's encountered something he's less familiar with, he's happily looked it up (not one of those doctors with a "God complex" - rare in this day and age!). Not only does Dr. Stryk understand these rare conditions and how to treat them, but he stands by his recommendations. He and his staff are top-notch patient advocates: they're amazing at navigating tricky insurance avenues as well as communicating effectively with several physicians' offices at once (coordination of care). Their office is a little "old school" and not on any EHR, but their records are more pristine than any other physician I work with, and they're always the fastest physician group to respond when I need input from multiple teams. Dr. Stryk is transparent: he will always transcribe his notes right in front of you, give you the ability to correct him on the spot, and send you a paper copy immediately after the appointment. It's refreshing. He and his office staff will always call you with your test results and explain things thoroughly. Your appointment will last exactly as long as you need it to and not one minute less (which means he might run a little late some days - but it's worth it). He's a big personality. He talks a million miles a minute. But he'll slow it down and repeat himself, if you ask. He knows this about himself. He's very personable, and he and his staff are highly accommodating. The care is truly world-class. I cannot recommend Dr. Stryk and his team highly enough.
Rude office staff, doesn't want to listen when I tried to make an appointment as a new patient.
Dr.Stryk is an amazing doctor. He does a very detailed analysis and explains everything very clearly so that you get an understanding of the situation. He goes above and beyond and cares very well for his patients even after hours. He has a ton of patience and is very cheerful and gives you confidence that things will get better. I feel blessed that my son had an opportunity to be treated by Dr.Stryk.
Staff is very friendly and caring. Dr. Stryk is extremely knowledgeable and I feel like I’m in very good hands. This is who you want to see if you have issues with allergies.
I would not Recommend this doctor to anyone for too many reasons to list
He is a great doctor! My two kids and I see him for our allergies and asthma. He is very good with kids. He is the only doctor my kids are excited to see. His staff is very friendly. I recommend him to everyone.
Extremely professional and caring. Clearly understands how to take care of his patients. Great staff, very friendly. Seemed extremely knowledgeable in the areas of Asthma and Allergy. He understood my needs and addressed them accordingly. I would send my family and friends to see this Doctor without hesitation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We love this office! The staff members are warm and caring and Dr. Stryk is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Stryk is my 4 year old son’s Allergist and interacts with him in a way that puts him at ease. My son was very sick when he was 18 months old, he was struggling to breathe and lethargic. After two visits to his pediatrician in a week, we were told that he had a viral infection and that it would resolve itself. At the initial appointment with Dr. Stryk he was diagnosed with pneumonia and later diagnosed and treated properly for asthma. My kiddo required several medications to adequately treat the pneumonia and I cringe when I think about what may have happened had I not been referred to Dr. Stryk. I am very thankful for his commitment to keeping my little guy healthy!
Dr. Stryk and his staff are certainly the best of the best. I have been living with allergies/asthma for over 40 years. Dr. Stryk has been the most thorough and caring physician, helping me through the tough allergy seasons. Moreover, his staff has always been accommodating with my schedule for weekly/monthly allergy injections.....if only every office was as good as this one!!
The doctor entered the room very abruptly. It was my first visit. He didn’t even say hello. I’ve never met him before. It was the most awkward situation. He immediately suggested very sternly and abruptly that I go elsewhere from the get go and was trying to convince me to leave and to get care elsewhere. I couldn’t comprehend his intent or grasp his motive...so startling. He was very very stern with me and at me. It was very awkward. He was not compassionate at all and I was in shock with the tone he was using, his behavior, and I can’t believe I didn’t walk out. I was not prepared to be in a situation like this🙄 I froze up then started crying. He was very negative and did not have a complete understanding of my history either. The dictation he did at the end was not all correct. And that’s another way that I knew he wasn’t understanding my situation and history. When I tried to explain my history, or correct him...he was oddly talking to himself and was talking medical codes to himself. I was able to capture some of his odd behaviour on my phone. I was pretty upset at how unprofessional the appt went. I was so upset that it took me an hour sitting in my car before I could drive home afterwards. I think it’s very unfair and terrible that a doctor thinks it is ok to act the way that he did for most of the consult. Never in a million years was I prepared for this. After the appt., I contacted my former doctor of 15 years who retired....and my internist of 25 years to tell them what happened....they were upset as well at the unprofessionalism. During the appt he even said that he didn’t care about hearing about my former doctor who retired when I spoke of him and he said to stop addressing him and speaking of him. He was very awkwardly verbal when asking me questions from a list that he made out about a patients history and described things in the questions using some gruesome and startling language some of the time. As if he was trying to get me to leave. (I should have) He spoke so fast when asking the questions (similar to how the artist musician Eminem talks so fast in his songs) I could barely keep up with hisc ctrenekt fadt pace. I wish a nurse would have been present during my consult. Or my husband. Maybe this wouldn’t have happened or maybe it was supposed to happen so that I wouldn’t choose him for my care l, which is very important to me. We won’t ever go back and do not recommend this doctor despite his previous reviews. It was a very strange experience. Traumatizing. I spent the rest of the evening in bed as this experience made me ill physically from the stress. He caused my anxiety to go through the roof and it caused a panic attack. All unnecessary behavior So uncomfortable I’ve never met anyone like him and don’t ever want to experience something like this again. I surely couldn’t be the only one that this has happened to. Good luck!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
