Great doctor
I had precisely picked Dr. Alford as my new doctor cause my doctor that i had for several years had retired...it started out i think normal new doctor patient relationships are awkward in the beginning i guess...i began seeing him in 2012 or 2013...i started losing my energy and bloating real bad like i was 9 months pregnant infact i say that laughing cause i would tell ppl it feels like im 9 months pregnant...i had thyriod checked it was fine i had pap smear it was fine i was sent to a therapist that would have me read and fill out papers that asked if i was suicidal he would then go on his computer that gave him drugs to medicate what i was feeling i thought it was crazy but who am i, im just a patient...these drugs that caused me to flip out even more caused more marital problem at home i was actually having a mental break down with some days i felt so deathly sick i informed dr alford i will not take these drugs they are making me suicidal and my mental state was no better we tried hormone therapy for 3 months i noticed i still would bloat and get deathly sick i would try so hard but most days i layed in bed...my husband and I thought we must need a change we put our home and property on the market we are moving to florida i had some days i felt ok and those days i was just so sick i stayed in bed.. i went in to see Dr Alford about these same symtoms my lower back ached kinda like it does now he wanted a urine test and realized i had marijuana in my urine i knew i wasnt really a big pot smoker but had recently tried it to feel better i was so sick it helped me sleep and eat i tried my hardest to do whats right so he said i had to quit i thought thats easy so i did gave me urine test i was cleared...im still in limbo ive been feeling absolutely horrible and still no clue to what is wrong few months passed...i went in to see dr. Alford still feeling the way that id been feeling he asked for urine test which i knew would be marijuana in i walked out he wanted nothing to do with me and it was very obvious...james alford the marijuana is what got me through...thought you should know if you dont know already from my doctor's here in florida, where my husband and I bought our dream home hoping my illness would go away or i would get through menopause and we could live the rest of our lives happy like we use to be before all the drama we have been here not even 6 months...i could possibly have ovarian cancer you have no idea what im going through right now...Well i have to come on and apologize Dr. Alford i do not have ovarian cancer amen to that...i did have every sign of it though and i mean every 1 and then some...i was crazy from hormones...and i was embarrassed because of it...next time you have a WOMAN in your office and complained like i did you'll know its fibroids and cyst on her ovaries...just sayin!😋 she needs a hysterectomy both my YOUNGER sister's have had 1 so its in my medical history...i thought i was going crazy and everyone around me thought the same thing...i was!!!! my hormones were obviously the main contributor to thatSincerely Tracey L Osborne
The care this man provides not only exceeds his degree but his personal conection and meaning he gives to his patients
I was a patient of Dr Alford for 10 years and he always took the time to listen to me. I am saddened that i dont see him anymore because i had to move out of state. Ive never had a Dr as compassionate as Dr Alford. Thank you, James!
Wonderful doctor, very caring and has given such good advice. Listens and is concerned about us, his patients.
Dr Alford has always been respectful, listened to me and been receptive to my input into my health care.
Excellent Physican
It is a shame that the doctor I walked into see several years back isn't the doctor I saw recently. He has lost his compassion for his patient's...First you are handed a contract that clearly asks you to give up your HIPPA rights then you are asked to do a UDS...It isn't just you but all your patients...I have a problem with us for several reasons...First lets say you do the UDS and of course it will be negative then he prescribes something...He said that he is doing random unexpected UDS's...So if he prescribes something and it came back positive your have clearly violated your contract...So he can kick you out of the practice...So he wants to make himself the judge and the jury when it comes to YOUR health care...In other words you have no consumer rights...Yet you are the one paying the bill along with the insurance company...This physician no longer has your best interest at heart and it is my advice that you seek health care elsewhere...When the compassion has gone from a physician it is really sad...I feel sorry for him and he is in my prayers that better times happen for him...Is he saying that the people in Chelsea, Michigan are drug seekers??? Is this how he feels about his community? You need to ask yourself why you would go to a physician like this unless you need a parental type figure taking care of you...Sad just so sad...I cried after because I remember he had a spring in his step and a heart of gold but that is gone...I hope it is only temporary...Say a prayer..
VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED IN James Alford and the Doctor's in the office. Instead of taking care of a problem they want to send it out to another Doctor. His diagnosis is questionable he state one thing but the ER Doctor states another which I tend to believe the ER Doctor first. Has given us nothing but a run around in finding help for the bleeding in my stomach. James Alford never follows up after a visit, the ER Doctor did.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
