List of Ali Shakir's Reviews
Dr. Ali Shakir earns all A's for his unprofessional medical practice – an A for Avarice, an A for Apathy, an A for Arrogance, and finally an A for Amorality. Shakir preys upon the fear that individuals experience due to their condition related to irregular heart rate occurrences (PAC or PVC), fails to deliver competent medical treatment / health care, and then rips his patients off with exorbitant fees for services that are careless and negligent. In addition to Ali Shakir’s inability to deliver competent services, Amy in his billing department operates with predatory and unethical business practices by blind siding patients with cost information that is provided within hours of an appointment / outpatient procedure scheduled months in advance. There is no consideration for a patient’s age, financial situation, or adequate insurance coverage. Shakir and his staff epitomize everything that is wrong with the U.S. medical industry. Stay away and find another Cardiovascular practice that operates with professionalism and empathy for their patients. It is sad to see the Hippocratic Oath become ironically hypocritical in its implementation by the likes of Dr. Ali Shakir and the Cardiovascular Institute of Michigan.

I have contacted this office literally 4 times to schedule an appointment to have an implant removed. I was told the second call that the person I needed to speak with would call me back when they returned to the office. No return call. The third time I was told the individual was out of town, but returned that day and would call me back. Again, no return call.Prior to this, I was hospitalized and Dr. Shakir came to see me and spent all of one minute with me. He seemed very unconcerned and very rushed. My initial visit with him went well, thereafter, the treatment and concern for my well-being went downhill. I would not recommend this office/physician to anyone. I should not have to call that many times for an appointment.
Dr. Shakir is exceptional in his care and diagnosis. But some of the support staff were so undependable that I had considered going elsewhere.
I had a Loop Recorder inserted on 10/22/19 because of palpitations/irregular heart beat by Shakir he and his nurse Paul the RN at Henry Ford Macomb are awesome and with a great bedside manner. Paul explained everything to me, took good care of me during my stay thank you Paul for your professionalism and loving care this show's you love your job. the procedure was fast and painless of course there is medication numb the area and that's all. Dr. Shakir thank you and Paul for all you have done. I would recomend the doctor if you have heart issues. So guys no need to worry about this procedure you don't need any pain medication's or anything like that just do it they talk you through it.
Dr. Algazoum is a great doctor!
Dr Shakir is truly what I call the miracle worker...he definitely knows his stuff...and really takes time to listen to his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
