Aman Shukairy's Online Review Report Card

Our initial visit went fine and Mom went through some required testing at this Flint office. My mother is handicapped from a stroke suffered several years ago and is now suffering from mature cataracts. Dr. Shukairy saw her and had no problem scheduling her for the surgery but due to her history told us she would need to do it at the McLaren Hospital Surgical Center rather than her own. She was scheduled 6 weeks after this appt. for the surgery but on the day before the anesthesiologist called and cancelled they said Mom needed a cardiac clearance. This should have been relayed to us at the time of scheduling not the day before her surgery date We proceeded to get clearance from her GP but anesthesiology would not accept that so we went to her cardiologist he has no problem with her having this surgery. So much time wasted because of lack of communication from this office. Upon calling Dr. Shukairys office to reschedule the receptionistscheduler Melissa was very rude she said things have changed and the cancellation was not on their backsit was anesthesiology so dont blame us they will no longer be willing to schedule Mom claiming they will not be contacting surgery center for a surgical suite in the near future. What? was Dr. S. banned from McLarens surgical suite? does Dr. S. only practice there once a year? Melissa did say Mom should come in and discuss referral options and of course pay another office visit why not just give the referral over the phone? because theyd miss out on another office charge. No apology was ever given no sign of sympathy. We feel this office just does not want to deal with a high risk handicapped patient. I would not recommend

She has done catarack and glaucoma Xen surgery on one eye and will do the other eye when this healing is complete. I have great confidence in her surgical ability and judge her to be the best doctor Ive had at explaining surgery process as well as being a real comfort to me in this rather difficult surgery. Highly recommend her with great confidence.

I was very happy overall with my visit. I used to have to travel to Detroit for my glaucoma care. It’s so nice to finally have a glaucoma specialist in Genesee County. She’s so nice and caring and knowledgeable. I haven’t ever had a doctor sit and explain my eye issues like she did. The staff was great too.

Had a really great experience with Dr Shukairy. She is so kind and knowledgeable. Explained everything thoroughly. Beautiful new office space and the staff were all so professional. Very happy with my visit.

Very bad doctor.. not following with her patients. Bad communication with her patients and their family. My Mom totally lost her vision because of her.

Dr. Shukairy is an excellent Doctor. She did wonderful job for my sisters glucoma surgery.

I absolutely love Dr. Shukairy. She is the best physician I have ever seen. She is so sweet and actually spends the time with me to explain my medical conditions and treatment options. She is TOP NOTCH in my book. I cannot say enough positive things about her Highly recommend
