Dr Barger have my mother in law as a patient, he is amazing doctor, he explains everything in small details, you can reach him anytime even on weekends, he treat us like we are his close family and I heard everything the best about him and we really are experiencing all of that... Thank you Dr Barger

It took him over a month to read my medical history and look over my MRI’s. Though I was told all of that would be done before my first initial appointment and we would go over it together. I had a horrendous MRI experience at Karmanos and when I explained it to Dr. Barger he didn’t believe me. He wanted to proceed with an MRA there at Karmanos and I begged to get it done at another hospital and bring it back to him. He refused my right to my own treatment. He said he wouldn’t order it for somewhere else. He blatantly disregarded my discomfort from my previous experience and showed zero compassion to what I was going through. After he said I probably have had this since birth and it doesn’t appear to be growing, so i’m probably my fine. Though he told me some of his associates believed it could be ominous, and when I asked to speak to those doctors he said, “I was really testing his memory and he couldn’t remember. He seemed to forget a majority of the conversations we had, as he told me the radiologist had spoke about an angiogram, and again he swears that never happened. I ended up going to a different doctor who completely agreed I need the angiogram done…. Yay finally a doctor fighting to get real answers who stays in contact with me! Dr. Barger was supposed to touch base with me 3 different time and everytime I reach out to him he leaves me on read and doesn’t get back to me with the information he says he will call me about. He continually shrugged off my symptoms and said something that small wouldn’t be causing all the daily excruciating life altering symptoms I deal with. I’m still very saddened with the treatment by the Karmanos staff, and Dr. Barger. Though what I am dealing with is being shown not to be cancer, he should have referred me to someone who could give me more help, like I asked several times! I’m just appalled that a doctor would look over something potentially life threatening. I’m glad I found my second opinion and that I am finding treatment through him and not Dr. Barger. If he couldn’t help me or didn’t want to do the testing to help me, then he should have referred me to someone else right away.

I’m seeing a new doctor and he has been absolutely amazing & completely on the ball with my medical care so far. Still haven’t heard back from Dr. Barger, he texted me that he would call me in a few hours… it’s been 10 days. He disregarded everything.

During my care Dr. Barger treating me as if I was a part of his family. We were so close and I was so comfortable that I started calling him dad LOL best doctor ever!!!

He's one of the best Neuro oncologist ⭐.

Dr. Barger is a very competent oncologist whose first priority is his patient. Not just the oncology side but instead s very wholistic care. He makes each patient feel they are his highest priority.

Dr. Barger dedicates almost his entire life to helping his patients. I know that if I am ever experiencing a wait when I go to see him, it is because he is helping someone who requires more immediate attention than I do. Dr. Barger is the most attentive doctor I have ever met.
