Emergency surgery Monday March 8, 2021 at HF Hospital. He saved her life.

Dr G is great, he took the extra time to ensure my diagnosis was correct he sent me to have many more test than most doctors would have and There WAS another issue causing my problems! Im sure most doctors would have gone with the first diagnosis and performed surgery But Dr G took the time to find the real reason. I’m forever great full. Dr. Guthikonda performed endoscopic brain surgery on my wife and saved her sight and her life. We went for a MRI and he brought us into his office the same day. He was very personable and was very concerned because the tumor that had formed was almost entirely wrapped around the optic nerve. He scheduled surgery for the same week. We did not have time to panic and during surgery spent two hours longer than expected to make sure the entire tumor was completely removed. His follow up care was excellent. I cannot thank this man enough for changing our lives forever. The surgery was over a decade ago and I still think about this Doctor often. I am humbled and he will remain in my prayers forever.

My wife had given birth to our first child (Son) in 2004! We all were in a festive mood and enjoying the newborn!! We came back from hospital and within 2 days, my wife suddenly became unconscious. I had no idea what happened to her and I was extremely frightened. I called 911 and she was taken to ER where she was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor near the base of her skull (near 3rd and 4th ventricle). Dr's in ER told me that the tumor size was similar to a size of a Walnut. She was admitted in our local hospital and next day she was seen by a Neuro-surgeon who worked there. After seeing my wife's MRI, the local Neuro-surgeon told us that she would not operate on my wife due to an extremely complicated surgery was needed but she would like her to be operated by her Professor under whom she did her Neuro-surgery fellowship. She sent us next day to see her Professor of Neuro-surgery "Dr. Murali Guthikonda" at Harper University Hospital in Detroit. After seeing him in his office, we were quite relived from our fears and anxiety. His calm and gentle nature, the way he explained everything to us and his personality tremendously helped us. Within couple of days, he did surgery on wife which lasted 9 hours and he was able to remove 70% of the tumor. He had to do the surgery again on her after one month to remove the remaining part of the tumor. After both surgeries, my wife recovered 100% and after 15 years to this date, she is doing amazingly well. I sincerely Thank the almighty lord and Dr. Murali Guthikonda for giving me my wife back and to our son his beloved mother. I have no words to express my deepest gratefulness to Dr. Guthikonda, his team and Harper University Hospital. May god bless him and his family and many other patient's who are being treated by him. A truly amazing surgeon. My condition was serious enough that many Drs told me not to get my hopes up. That was 17 years ago! No doubt this man added many, many years to my life. Still going strong today. So thankful for having him on my side.

Dr.Guthikonda saved my sons life. At the age of 19 he had a tumor in the very center of the brain that was considered inoperable by most. Only three surgeons in the country would even consider operating on him and Dr. G. was one. I’m happy to say after a nearly 12 hour surgery, my son came through it. Recovery was long but he did well. You would never know it now unless you notice his scar. I will always be grateful to Dr. G.

Was suffering with Lumbar Spondylolisthesis for many, many, years, I was introduced to Dr Murali. Guthikonda, and he and his brilliant team of surgeons, have truly done a marvelous job on getting me back on the straight and narrow. I had surgery on my back on June 26, 2018, was discharged on June 30th. Spent about 6 weeks recovering, and honestly speaking, I am a new man. All this time I thought I had Sciatica, Thanks to them, I can once again, walk, exercise, enjoy life, and even got back to the links, in September, to play some golf!!! I would highly recommend this team of Professionals!! God Bless Them!!

Dr Guthikonda saved my life, he responded to my desperate email while on vacation and met me to review my case on off office hours.
