I saw Dr. Humes for 18 years at Detroit Cripple Children's hospital. He always made my mother and I feel welcomed and informed. I appreciate him as an adult know. He saved my life. Thank you Dr. Humes -Amanda Borgstrom

"If I could give 0 stars or even negative stars I would for this man. We took our 2 week old infant to him in 10/2016. Due to her underlying mosaic genetic disorder he laughed at us for even pursuing a cardiology consult, pointed his finger in my face and told me having any hope for a life with my daughter was equivalent to a down syndrome adult having a television show. I would love for him to know she DID have her repair in Boston and she is now 4 years old. She is EVERYTHING he said she wouldn't be. She has zero delays, not affected by the mosaic genetic disorder and is a "normal" 4 year old kid. I thank God every single day I never listened to this man. He is an arrogant monster and needs to retire. I can't imagine all of the babies he has killed by not being willing to take a chance on them."

Maybe he's burned out, I'm not sure, but when a physician berates a patient and is more concerned with insulting patients it is time to retire.

One of most caring and gentle people we have ever come across. Dr. Humes is amazing. He takes time to listen and explain everything so that the patient and the parents are comfortable

Before my daughter was born we found out she had an ASD and a VSD. All of her doctors were prepaered at the time of her birth for anything which was such a relief to me during this scarry time. We saw Dr. Humes from birth to 3 months (time of her surgery). During this time Dr. Humes was so informative, answered all my redundant questions, made our family feel confident and supported, he helped me understand exactly what was wrong and how the surgery worked. Surgery was a success and we still continue to see Dr. Humes for check ups. My daughter is now 3 1/2 years old and in very good health. I would recomened Dr. Humes to other families that need a heart doc. :)
