I have worked for them for a few years at first I loved it at first but after Observing the management I got very disappointed early on. This is a health care Facility that does not care about your health. Just the money. Yes they have good hard working people who work fir them I was one. But they don’t appreciate or respect them one bit. They charge for too many labs q d stat just to charge the older people because they get away with it. They only clean, Dot their I’s and cross their t’s when JACO announces they are coming. They hire nurses right out of nursing school to work on a telemetry floor with no ICU experience Dangerous! They also make the clerks play telemetry tec and call it cross training. No extra pay. DANGEROUS but that is just to place blame when someone dies. If you’ve had a great experience with care I am happy for you. But it was only because the nurses do care. I did love the people that I worked with tho.
Best place for care. I LOVE THE ATTENTION Ms. Carmenlita showed my family...
My mom has improved so much since she's been here, they have been so attentive and caring it makes all the difference in. the world💞💞💞
There absolutely wonderful my mom has been at this facility for about a month or a little longer James the case manager keeps me update if I have any concerns or worries he insures me that he will get the best answers for me the best of his knowledge !!! If she could I would love for her to stay here but as we all know this isn’t a forever thing The way the nurses tend to the patients are extremely extraordinary !!! Mom came in on the ventilator and was off in about 3 weeks this Facility is highly recommended!!! Thank you Guys !

The Staff at Select Specialty Hospital N.W. Detroit are Angle the entire staff. I been here 7 days and I have been removed from the Vent, Trach will be coming out in a couple of days.I Love the staff from the day shift to the night shift they are AWESOME
The Staff here is excellent from the day shift to the night shift. I would highly recommend Select Specialty Hospital (Northwest). The Staff are Angel 😇
I would like to Thank this entire staff! During these unfortunate times they have cared for my mother for about 3 weeks now. They were amazing at coming up with a care plan for her recovery. She’s getting better and stronger by the day. I want to personally Thank The Respiratory Manager Larry he was able to get her off the ventilator. He’s awesome and very informative. I can’t Thank this staff enough and would recommend to any family in need of care for their family.
The Staff at Select Northwest are angles. My dad suffered from Covid 19. He was in ICU at DMC SG for over one month. He was on a vent, trached and pegged before arriving at Select Northwest. Before choosing Select Northwest I had interviewed the DON “Ms brown” the director of respiratory “ Larry the godsend”, Nick in case management, and the director of rehab. I told them about my feelings and how I wanted to do right by my dad. I told the staff that I was a very involved family member who would be calling and speaking with them daily. The DON and her team stated they had no problems with me calling every day and even supplied me with direct numbers to contact them daily with questions. The Don stated that she would instruct her staff to contact me twice a day to give me updates should I choose Select Northwest. During the conversation, I informed the director of respiratory that my dad had a prior trach over 20 years ago and that I would want this trach removed asap. Larry did not make any promises but stated he would do his best to meet my goals. After finally speaking with the director of rehab and nick from case management I elected to admit my dad to their facility. After over 60 days I admitted my Vent depended on dad to Select Northwest for continued respiratory care. While there I spoke with Larry daily about my dad's status. At times there were no updates, but Larry called anyway to keep his promise. Over time larry would have me meet the other therapist on his team who would be taking care of my dad. One therapist that stood out was Angle. Angle was an angle, she provided me with reassurance that my dad would be ok and also keep me grounded in faith. One night Angle, facetime me and spoke with me regarding my dad's condition, she had no updates, but she wanted to pray with me. That night we cried and shared a moment that I hope to never experience again. We were two people brought together by a pandemic crying and praying for answers. As time went on I grew to trust the whole respiratory team taking care of my dad and I would share a special moment with every rt who took care of my dad.Ms. Brown, the DON leads a team of dedicated nurses & patient care techs. I found the staff to be very nice and caring. They provided top-notch care. My dad stayed at select for about 60 days. During the time there my dad did not develop any wounds/bedsores, did not suffer any foot drop, and remained healthy. While in a coma, my dad received bedside therapy to help prevent additional mobility loss. After about 45 days my dad was awoken from his Coma. After being awoken, he received the care he needed to have his Trach removed and his diet upgrade. At my dad's time of discharge, my dad was able to stand after 105 days in the bed. He was able to eat regular food and most importantly Larry removed the trach.During my dad’s time at Select Northwest, Nick the case manager made sure my needs were met daily. If I had any questions, he supplied his cell phone number to me for my use any day or night. If you are questioning if you should admit your loved one here at Select Northwest my answer is yes. As a nurse, I know the care my dad received here exceeded the norm. Not only did they help save my dads life they made sure he suffered no ill will while under their careFrom the bottom of my heart, I want to take Ms brown, larry, angle, nick, and the rest of team northwest for giving me my dad back. You guys are angles.
This is about the Select Care facility in these hospitals it is not only this one all of them all over Michigan. If I could give this place a -5 stars I would, we just had to go and rescue my father-in-law from there sub-standard s****ty care. He was bruised and forced to stay in his bed, when he had to urinate they had him use the one at bedside and when they took it they would put it next to his food and occasionally it would spill on his food. They care little or not at all about any patient in their care, I advise if you have family there get them out quick. And if you are about to have a family member, or about to go there yourself please consider your health first and not your providers bottom line.
The Respiratory Staff has been absolutely impeccable in initiating a plan to wean my father off of the ventilator that he has been on since April 2020 prior to coming to this location. They have been able to accomplish in two months what the others could not accomplish in all the five months my father has been hospitalized At other facilities. The doctors and nurses are very attentive, to my fathers medical needs and to the entire family as a whole. We were always well informed and brought in to speak with the staff informing us of the game plan Concerning my father’s ongoing medical care and continued progress. Special thanks to respiratory manager Larry Lewis, Ellis, and Tania. The entire nursing staff and Dr. Kareem for taking out the time to explain all that was going on concerning my father.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This hospital has been great for my father. He was near an impossible condition to recover from major surgery and they have gone above and beyond to get him to stabilize and improve and he is on his path to recovery. We couldn’t be more thankfully for Dr. Karim, his staff, all the nurses and Larry Lewis from respiratory who helped him recover as well! Great staff who actually care about their patients. Thank you!
I recommend this hospital to anyone who needs help with respiratory issues they have a great staff. and the respiratory Supervisor Larry is the greatest, he got my mother together thank ya'll so much
We initially chose this location, because it was in close proximity to home. And it is extremely important for us to be able to get here quickly, and daily as needed. My father has been here for quite some time this year. My Dad had lung and kidney failure following a Septic Shock. Being in such a critical state, I could sleep at night knowing that he was taken care of by this staff. Genuine love and care for my father has been expressed during a time in his life where he couldn’t speak for himself. Nurses, CNA’s, PT/OT, Dialysis and Respiratory, all show so much love for our family. I closely watch everything that has been done and I’m welcomed with my...many, many...questions and suggestions for his care. I really appreciate the support and comfort during some of the toughest days. The respiratory team is my awesome, honestly! They are always available and friendly and knowledgeable about his situation. I specifically requested that he come back to this hospital because the initiative the respiratory team took on a daily basis to ween him. I’m very pleased with this facility and so is my Dad. He’s shown so much improvement that it brings tears to my eyes!!! I’m confident that my father will leave here in a much better state, and prayerfully off of the ventilator and dialysis.
This facility has been great with my Mother. 10 out of 10 wouldn’t cut it, they’re 12 out of 10! Awesome staff every day and on every shift!
Resporiory: You couldn't ask for a better crew - Larry,Flo,Tricia & the whole crew have been so helpful, cheerful, caring & loving. They make you laugh when your down & put an arm around you for an extra hug! I love Flo's cheerful personality along with the rest of the clan. Larry's always checking to make sure things are good! It takes all of them to make this Hospital great!!
My Mother Was In Rehabilitation For Two Weeks At This Location The Staff Is Amazing! Not Only Do They Seem Like Family They Treated My Mom And My Family As Such. It Was A Very Professional, Caring, And Very Attentive Environment. I Really Appreciate Florence One Of The Respiratory Therapist Who Took The Time To Instruct Me On How To Care For My Mom At Home Once Discharged. Larry Who Is The Supervisor Of Respiratory Was Amazing! Even Though She's Been Discharged He's Still Willing To Assist Us With Any Concerns. I Recommend Select Specialty Hospital NW To Anyone Who Wants The Best Possible Care For A Loved One.
I give this hospital a double 👍🏾
