Charles H. Bill's Online Review Report Card

My Father had a fall in 2013 and was “treated” by Dr. Bill. My Father hit his head in the fall and was found unconscious in the house by police two days after I last spoke to him by phone. As his son I had numerous calls with Dr. Bill as I drove from Denver to East Lansing. During those calls I had a clear understanding with Dr. Bill that if he couldn’t come out of coma and fully recover to allow him to pass away while still in coma. This is what my Dad would have wanted. Dr. Bill called me again about midnight saying my Dad is doing much better and he can save him knowing full well what “save him” meant. Per our clear understanding “save him” meant he could recover to live without aid and attendance. As such he performed brain surgery and then immediately went on vacation!! Who does brain surgery and then goes on vacation?? Who does surgery and then isn’t there to support the patient and family, answer questions and monitor their patient for at least 48 hrs?? Someone heartless, spineless and unprofessional like Dr. Bill that’s who. Who lets that happen to a patient and family? A hospital run like Sparrow that’s who. My Father awoke from the surgery the next day and was nonverbal and having severe facial seizures. He was suffering so bad we had to immediately pull life support and watch him die. I will never forget the look in my Dads eyes when he awoke from the surgery. He was so frightened and couldn’t speak. It broke my heart and still haunts me. Instead of honoring our agreement Dr. Bill profited from a unnecessary botched surgery that defied our agreement. So instead of letting him die peacefully in coma, he woke up, was terrified and we had to pull life support. Dr. Bill caused this catastrophic pain and suffering. He never even bothered to call to express his condolences for his passing. Dr. Bill is a total unredeemable dirt bag! As far as Sparrow hospital goes the PA assigned to update us about my Father after the surgery told us he knows nothing about his case or post surgery status and to talk to the nurses. The nurses were clueless, unsympathetic and basically useless. Typical Sparrow care. Our family feels Dr. Bill’s actions were criminal, cruel, unethical and certainly unprofessional and heartless. We should have sued him and Sparrow. The only reason we didn’t was we’re we’re so devastated by what happened we barely had the emotional strength to lay my Father to rest. Dr. Bill’s actions devastated our family and caused my Father to die frightened and suffering. I hope this despicable person gets the judgment by God he deserves. He is a quack lining his pocket by lying, ignoring families wishes and showing zero compassion or professionalism. A typical doctor you’d expect from Sparrow hospital. Don’t let Dr. Bill anywhere near your loved ones!!!!!

This was such a helpful positive experience. I received respectful education. And a realistic evaluation of my back pain. In my situation, surgery was not an option. This was something we talked through. When i read the report -it included the things i told him- the tests he performed- and the decision we both made.

I had a laminectomy and discectomy performed by Dr Bill in 2000. Still pain free!

I was sent to Dr Bill for a consult by my doctor. Dr Bill came into the room with a surgical mask on and never removed it. He did not introduce himself. He spent less than 5 minutes with me and did not answer when I asked him about his choice to send me to physical therapy when a physical therapist said in his report that it could not fit my problem. Obviously this man has a God complex and feels he should not be questioned.

I had a very rare and aggressive tumor intertwined in my cervical spine- I sought out the best of the best- Dr. Bill is a genius with a gifted skill set that gave me my life back! I am forever indebted to him, and highly recommend him to anyone needing Neurosurgery!

Dr Bill replaced a disc in my neck in 2003. He told me not to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds, and that eventually I'd have to have pain shots in my neck. Well, it's 2017, and no problems yet, and I've lifted things much heavier than 10 pounds. The OR nurses recommended him, and I'm glad I listened.

In my opinion, Dr. Bill is one of the most talented and compassionate doctors I have ever met, and his staff fits the same description. My wife and I had equally fantastic outcomes and actually enjoyed going to appointments because of the way he and his staff treated us.

He was very unprofessional. He bad mouthed my former doctor and belittled me when I told him my problems. I would never let him operate on me.

Dr. Bill performed a disc fusion in my neck. I was in excruciating pain beforehand and even more after the surgery. The surgery was out of network and we ended up paying $15000 out of pocket for a surgery that made things worse. I spent 5 weeks in a pain rehab clinic which added even more to the amount paid to this practice.

Dr. Bill, Does not in any way have a good bedside manner he treats his patients like dirt
