No one has bedside manner like this man. He cares. It shows in the manner he speaks to you. I've been a patient for over 2 years. I met him in the ER at Sparrow when his team was first to diagnose a dissection in my vertebral artery leading to the fact they found evidence that I had suffered through multiple strokes. He has been with me every step of the way since. I have always wanted to hug him. But because of covid I have not been able to. My husband and I often say he is simply the smartest person we have ever talked to. He saved my life.

I waited 5 months to see Dr. Qahwash for my back. At my first visit I was told to get an MRI and return in 2 months. At 2 months no discussion took place as to treatment other than being sent to pain management and getting an EMG and return in 2 months. I was getting worse every day. The EMG Dr. told me I had significant nerve damage and Dr. Qahwash needed to see that. Once again Dr. Qahwash was booked out months. At that time I could barely walk. Fortunately, I got a referral from a very well respected Dr. who connected me to a neurosurgeon out of town. I'm getting the treatment I needed.

Dr. Qahwash is an amazing doctor who saved my life! Thank you for all you do!

You was there by my bedside for your morning visits as well to answer all my questions, check on me and help ease the pain during recovery. This significantly meant a lot to me and my family. He asked my husband many questions and actually listened to his answers. He explained in terms we could understand and answered all our questions. My experience with Dr. Qahwash has been nothing other than excellent. I could not have asked for a better neurosurgeon to care for me. He took the time to actually listen to me, answer all my questions, and genuinely seemed concerned and truly cared about me and my condition. He did my surgery to help with my Chiari Malformation and was there every day during my hospital stay to check in on me. My recovery has been amazing. I very impressed and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.
