My wife was seeing Dr. Raina for her rapid heart beat issues. Dr. Raina told us that she had Vascular Tachycardia and he put her on Metaprol. My wife's father has A-phib and a pace maker and my wife advised Dr. Raina of this. Dr. Raina told us that my wife did not have A-phib. My wife continued to have problems with her heart rate, therefore, Dr. Raina took her off of Metaprol and put her on cardizam. Again, my wife continued to have the same issues with heart rates over 160. She went back to Dr. Raina and all he did was raise her dosage of cardizam when this medication was clearly not helping. This past weekend, my wife continued to have the same issues. We were out to dinner Friday night when she complained of tightness in her chest and a head ache, her Fitbit read that her heart rate was at 175. I immediately rushed her to the hospital. When arriving at the ER, she was in A-phib which Dr. Raina told her she did not have. The ER Dr. Confirmed that Dr. Raina misdiagnosed my wife. The ER Dr. Confirmed that you should go straight to the hospital if your heart rate goes up to 160 and that if I had not gotten her to the hospital when I did, she could have had a stroke when Dr. Raina just told her to take another pill. Dr. Raina could have killed my wife. We are definitely getting a new cardiologist. The cardiologist that my wife seen at the hospital stated that Dr. Raina should not have taken my wife off of Metaprol but should have tripled her dosage and he should have put her on blood thinners as well to limit her risk of stroke. My wife's new cardiologist put her on Metaprol and Cardazam and Eliquis. My wife's heart rate is now normal, no thanks to Dr. Raina. Unless you have a death wish, I would strongly advise you find a different cardiologist. I will add that I noticed that the owners responses to reviews are only seen in positive reviews which I have reason to believe that some of the positive reviews were written by Dr. Raina's employees. Maybe the medical board needs to review some of these negative reviews. By all rights, after Dr. Raina almost killing my wife, he should be reviewed by the medical board and have his medical license revoked.

I was having Cardiovascular problems. After having an EKG and Ultra Sound and a change in medications to treat my condition, I am up and running again.Ascension’s Novi Cardiology Department is great!

Once again I visited Dr. Abhinav Raina. Due to a a problem with my breathing and possibly my heart, his office, he was able to fit me in his busy schedule. This is the first time I had to wait a little longer but not too long. His nurses and other attendants took my information quickly and checked my vitals. Doctor Raina asked about my concerns and symptoms, and quickly made suggestions and set me up with tests that needed to be made. He also suggested that I needed to acquire a new spirometer to increase my lung capacity and a new pulse ometer. Great doctor, great service, and Ascension Center.

Dr. Raina takes the time to find out what's going on w/you & to answer all questions. He makes you feel comfortable & no question is too elementary. This applies to his staff as well.
