List of Dr Jay Levinson's Reviews
called the office 7/7/2022 left msg for Dr Levinson, Called 7/8/2022 left msg. no return calls. I have been getting progressively worse. Pain kept me up all night last night. I reached another Dr. in practice this morning and he told me to go to the ER and he would give Dr. Levinson a message this morning. Its 11:00 I have not heard from My Dr. yet. I don't know if it is the office or the Dr. the worst customer service I have ever encountered. thinking of looking for a different practice - I am torn. The doctors in this practice are supposedly the best in the city. On the other had, if I cannot reach my Dr. what good is the practice. called the office 7/7/2022 left msg for Dr Levinson, Called 7/8/2022 left msg. no return calls. I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews but this could really save the next person/patient from getting a scare of there life. (No exaggeration) Feb. 11 2020 I was involved in a off road accident where I was more injured than what I thought I was. I have had back epidural injections with awesome Dr. Radden. I had left shoulder surgery as well. My body does NOT tolerate any pain medications and I refused to take any. Each doctor understand my perspective for it and gave muscle relaxers. During March 2020 I started having gut issues. I’ve never had gut issues before. Dr. Sam Yashinsky is my primary AND my family doctor. I have sent my best friend to him and my uncle and both cousins go here too. Dr. Sam Yashinsky and his father (same names) are AMAZING! I have worked with Sam from the very beginning of my issues. He has done over and beyond for me and my family knowing he has a career and life of himself to tend to..he will do whatever is needed for our health to stay on track. I’ve been in and out of emergency departments and even admitted due to a MAJOR error Hutzel hospital has made. (I passed away & brought back to life from a procedure I wasn’t supposed to have under someone else name) Ever since that scare has happened to me Sam understands and so does his office helpers! Even the urgent care recommended for me NOT to go to the ER. 2021, I was diagnosed with h pylori from two scopes I’ve had. The hospital ignored Sam for almost a year and he did everything he could to get my medical forms from them. I’ve thrown up blood to the point my chest flutters. I’m dealing with anxiety now due to h pylori as well. Ulcer is unknown, I do have a hernia too from all of this. See how well I speak high of the doctors who have at least tried to help me? Let’s jump to today on 07/18/2021 where my aunt see’s me in pure sweats as if I jumped in the shower with my clothes on (I haven’t) but I was freezing. My right leg went numb as well which has been happening over a year. Typically I’ll either email Dr Sam or call the emergency line to receive a call back. I ADORE all the office ladies because they know who I am and what’s happened to me. I’ve even lost two children from doctors mistakes from the ER.(Yes a attorney is involved) I received your a call back within 6 minute timeframe (faster than usual) When I answered “hello” (while crying barely able to catch a breath from my chest feeling tight..a Dr. Levingston returned my call and his immediate response to me was “you have covid, you can’t take just Tylenol, go to the ER it’s nothing I can do for you over the phone” I KID YOU NOT, I didn’t get to even say what is wrong with me nor ask for the quick help I needed. I literally only wanted to know which vitamin can be taken together because I purchased two of them. To help to Bacteria in my gut. The Dr Levingston hung up the phone soon as I said “I”. I have been tested for covid since 2020 car accident as well and even tried to explain that I can’t take Tylenol either. He was beyond rude and I see why he was never recommended to me as a GI. The GI Dr. Piper is AMAZING and communicates with his patients. I met Dr Piper through Dr Sam because of referrals and acceptance. (The road took Dr Sam and I over a year to finally get some help and we ended up with the best GI. Please under no circumstances should you let Dr Levingston work on your health. He does not care about us. I plan on keeping Dr Sam as my PCP until my time is up. I trust him with my life because him and the GI DR PIPER CARE! Get a GI who cares about your well being. I’ve experienced short death and unbearable pain because I know my primary Doc has my back on the back end. So does my GI. RUDE!!!!
Been in a lot of pain and miserable for a long time. Became angry and distrustful of Doctors, especially specialists. Dr Levinson made the moves I needed to start feeling better. I deducted a star for the office staff. Became clear that a front office “policy” prevented my messages from getting to Dr Levinson causing a long period of unnecessary pain because I thought he was ignoring me. Dr. Levinson does not believe in patient education. Very poor follow up after a diagnosis and no plan of care. He is a poor listener and talks right over you. He does not believe a patient has the right to read their own reports, tests, etc., which is provided by law to them through their patient portal. There are far superior gastroenterologists!

prompt and courteous initial consult, painless treatment, and conscientious follow up with detailed information about results. Highly recommended.
I recently had my first interaction with Dr. Levinson and his practice named Digestive Health Associates where I was a patient with Dr. Maas, now retired. Dr. Levinson asked me the right questions and listened to my concerns at the initial app't. The office then scheduled an app't for a simultaneous upper endoscopy and colonoscopy while sedated. That app't also went well with timely service after being greeted and being able to ask questions of the anesthesiologist and Dr. Levinson before the procedures. His office followed up with both test results timely. I am a satisfied patient and just recommended him to a friend in need of a colonoscopy. Keep up the good work!
Dr. Levinson was the first doctor to actually take the time to listen to my complaints and do necessary testing. He followed up with me multiple times while he was on vacation and helped me find a surgeon. This doctor is a real gem and I would highly recommend him.
The doctor is professional and helpful. My problem is the staff and the system. If you call, their voice system says they are a customer centric facility. Ummmm, no. Their voice system is cumbersome, and you can't leave a message during non-working hours. If you call during lunch, you can't leave a message. Before work, can't leave a message. Leave your phone number twice or I won't call back. Nice. The doctor is professional and helpful. My problem is the staff and the system. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
