Derek L. Hill's Online Review Report Card

my experience was not the best. let me preface this review by saying I worked as an RN for 35 years. I know my way around the recovery process. Ihad problems with my knee feeling like it was unstable and my knee cap felt like it was sliding. Dr Hill put me in a brace which was not helpful. I kept telling him it felt like a structual issue. He sent me back to rehab twice and again I told him this was a structual issue. I got a second opinion and on JUly 17 had recon structive surgery. The problem was the component at the thigh bone connection was in the wrong position. My knee is great now. I felt like Dr Hill didnt listen to me and was not interested in solving the issue

Dr. Hill saved my husband from having a total hip surgery he did not need. Consulting with Dr. Hill for a second opinion was the best thing we ever did. After being told he needed a total hip replacement by another dr, Dr. Hill reviewed the x-rays and determined he did not need surgery at all. He prescribed some medicines which took away the pain my husband was suffering from for months. So glad we talked with Dr. Hill. Would highly recommend!

The one star is for the front desk staff. They are positive, pleasant, and welcoming. The other 0/4 is for Dr. Hill. Why? I can't rate him because he didn't bother to show up for my appointment. I met with the PA a couple times and he was nice, but the man who was supposed to do my surgery (Of course it was important to meet him first, right?) didn't show up. My appointment was 11:15 am. I arrived at 10:45 and was surprised that they took me back to the room quickly. I SAT in that room until 11:58...when I opened the door, walked out, and asked if I had been forgotten. "No, Dr. Hill isn't here yet." What??? (i'm not ranting now or was I then..but really???) "He must be running behind getting here, but should be here soon." Me... "Don't you think someone should have said something to me? I'll wait 15 more minutes and I'm leaving." 15 minutes later I told the checkout worker, "I don't expect to be billed. I equate this with my missing an appointment and YOU would bill ME. So, if you bill me, I will bill you the $60 (not kidding) that I make per hour tutoring." She... "I'm so sorry. Would you like to make another appointment?" Me... "No thank you. Have a good day." I left at 12:20. 1 hour and 35 minutes after arrival. Ugh. I am going to find a new ortho after this posting. Don't bother with Dr. Hill. Apparently, it didn't bother him at all not showing up for me.

My mother's experience was horrible! Without details I am telling you, Just Don't!!

Dr. Derek Hill is a true professional with expertise, knowledge and skill in orthopedics. Personable and caring and takes time to answer all questions and concerns. I recently had an anterior right hip replacement. Dr. Hill's knowledge and skill made my surgery and recovery quick and without any apprehension. I feel like a new person! He is a concerned, caring doctor and surgeon with compassion and understanding for his patient. His staff also meets high quality of assisting patients needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Hill to anyone with orthopedic concerns.

WITHOUT A DOUBT A FANTASTIC PHYSICIAN!! Dr. Derek Hill is an excellent surgeon with impeccable bedside manners!! Very knowledgeable very caring considerate and a perfectionist. He's everything a person would appreciate and expect in a physician! Dr. Hill came highly recommended from my primary physician. Moreover, his staff was unbelievably kind! I am 100% thrilled with my new hip and the precise leg length.

Dr. Hill listened to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions, and explained the procedure completely. I highly recommend him.

Find another doctor!!!!! This is not the best choice for care, truth, follow up!!! Unfortunately my life has been altered by making the choice to use this doctor!! This is an extremely negligent dr and office.

Dr. Hill did both my knees. I used to walk all crooked. My knees were knocked and I was in a lot of pain. Thanks to him, I now walk straight and am pain free.
