i wasted 3 1/2 years with another doctor ...I seen Dr. Schell on TV...made an appointment and in 3 weeks I was getting the treatment I needed ...He burned the right side nerves, then 3 weeks later the left side was done ...WOW... I felt relief instantly ....What was i waiting for with the other doctor.... You need RELIEF ... call Dr. SCHELL now...do not wait another day with pain
Was an hour and a half late for my appointment and extremely rude unhelpful and dismissive basically said well you dont need surgery have a great day no discussion on what was wrong or how to treat it just pushed me out of the office cuz my age, i have a feeling hes only in it for the money and to do surgerys would not recommend
Dr Schell would not listen. Did surgery did not explain what to expect. Gave me staph infection and never saw me again. I was in so much pain I had to find a doctor in Beaumont who saw me fast and was the best care ever. Do not go to Dr Schel
This Doctor is one of the Best! He listens to what you have to say, and he's always very good about getting to the point of the problem and fixing it. None of this go home and take an aspirin and if that doesn't work , I don't know what to tell you!! I recommend him 💯!!!
In 1992 I was 9 yrs old and had an AVM rupture. I don't think I'd be here today if It wasn't for Dr. Schell. 30 yrs later and I'm still grateful for the care I received and to all the amazing nurses that were at St. Mary's at the time.
I had one surgery with Dr. Schell. He did a procedure during surgery that he never discussed with me. It ended up causing me a lot of unneeded pain. I think he is an average doctor and would have given him a three star rating if it were not for his staff. The staff are rude and unprofessional. It takes months to get scheduled for surgery. I was to have a second surgery with him and the staff scheduled me for the wrong surgery. Dr. Schell did not realize this until I was in the holding room and I was next in line for surgery. I got no apology from the surgery scheduler and she never called me again to schedule me for the correct surgery. I switched doctors and am very happy I did.
Dr. Schell did surgery on my husband and it couldn't have gone better!! He is an excellent surgeon and if not for him, my husband would be a quadriplegic. He was very thorough and caring. His staff was wonderful and made us all very comfortable during a stressful time. I could not recommend him enough for anyone in need of a good surgeon!
I wish I had done more research on this "Dr" before I went to see him. He performed 2 surgeries on me. I went to see him for back pain after a near fatal car accident I was in in 2012. He said the reason for my pain was because my sacrum was not stable. So he pinned my sacrum to my pelvis. The 2nd surgery was for a pain stimulator. Which never worked! I went Matrix Pain Clinic in Saginaw where I started seeing Dr. Papenfuse. That is when I found out the reason why the stimulator never worked. "Dr" Schell had put the leads in the wrong area on my spine. Dr. Papenfuse performed 2 surgeries on my back to try to fix "Dr" Schells mistake. Neitger one of them worked. I don't understand how he still has a licence. He was even sued for "alledgedly" paralyzing one of his patients. Which can be researched. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS "DR"!!
Dr. Schell performed back surgery on my husband 3 years ago which turned out to be a disaster. He ended up with drop foot and a massive infection in the hardware that was put in. He lost 50 pounds, had to be on IV antibiotics for several months at home, had a wound vac and now has been left with the inability to walk without a walker or cane and still has unbearable pain most of the time. He went from being an avid golfer to an invalid. Dr. Schell assured him he would have him back playing golf within a few months following surgery. We have not recommended him to anyone.
Professional a d humane neurosurgeon who saved my life.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
