I came to see Dr. Brian Shapiro for a hernia repair. Dr. Shapiro is an amazing surgeon. He did an excellent job and I am very pleased. Everytime I have an appointment in his office. He is very kind, compassionate, and caring. I never have to wait very long for an appointment. Dr. Shapiro and his nurse are both amazing and work well as a team for their patients including myself. Dr Shapiro performed emergency hernia rupture repair on me & took time to remove adhesions from previous abdomenal surgeries without my asking. He also performed my colonoscopy. He is nerdy & generally not socialiable, which can be mistaken for arrogance, but in my opinion he is a good surgeon. I see him annually for checkups. I tell jokes & then he warms up. His staff is highly professional, caring & accommodating. Reading the negative comments below, they could be attributed to almost any doctor who sees hundreds of patients & will have some who aren't satisfied.

Terrible uncaring arrogant. Does not listen to patients or nurses. He feels far superior. Almost killed my daughter for a simple gall bladder removal. She spent 9 months in agony recovering. Plus, She needed emergency surgery from another doctor on staff. To save her life. Then more surgery at another hospital to finally do the first surgery right. Nurses and other doctors do no like him. He should never do surgery again.

This guy installed the port for my mothers chemo right on a nerve- she was in agony, had to go to Genesys to have it fixed. When we told them who put the port in they just rolled their eyes- like they new this guy was terrible. RUN- do not walk away from this "surgeon"

My surgery was botched. he claimed he wanted to do some exploratory. I was misled about the damage and scarring and WOKE UP ON THE TABLE!!!!!
