My Podiatrist retired and was switched to Dr Bergsma. He was very condescending and made assumptions about me as a diabetic.. He talked down to me and when he removed my calluses they returned in a month versus fully removing them. He also said I needed special inserts which I already had and instead of asking my profession or lifestyle only gave me one option of "old people" strap style shoes even though I knew there were more modern styles which my previous Dr provided inserts for.

I have been going to Dr. Bergsma for a few years now. Very competent, answers all your questions and explains things very thoroughly. My husband just had 2 foot surgeries by him this year and was very happy with his care. Have recommended him to several of my friends and relatives. You do tend to wait a bit long in the office, but to us it is worth it for the care he provides so we just plan ahead. He is professional and friendly; great "bedside" manner.

I was in the Grand Haven area visiting my family and injured both of my feet. As I needed my elderly Mother to get a Podiatrist pedicure, I set an app't for the two of us with Dr. Bergsma after a web search. Not only was Dr. Bergsma excellent with my Mother, he was very through with my exam, gave solid advice & put my mind at ease. I then saw him 2-days (!!!) later with another issue at his Norton Shores office. That was also handled with care and professionalism. His staff are true Pros! Kudo!

Most terrible experience that I've ever had at a doctors office. Dr. basically told me that I needed surgery but that he couldn't help me because of my weight. Lectured me and I left in tears with contact information for a bariatric surgeon. Kind of funny how two other specialists said they could help me, no problem. So glad I got other opinions and the surgeon I went with was amazing and I am now walking pain free! No thanks to being belittled by Dr. Bergsma!

Would totally recommend Dr. Bergsma! Wonderful, down to earth guy. Very knowledgeable about what he does. Performed bunion surgery on both of my feet 2015 and 2016. Look and feel great!

Dr. Bergsma listened, gave me options, as well as going over the pros and cons regarding treatment of a Morton's Neuroma. He was positive and encouraging, and respectful. Dr. Bergsma and the staff at his office are top notch! I could not have asked for a smoother surgery!

I just went to Dr. Bergsma because he was recommended by a friend. I really appreciated the way he shared his expertise made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. I also saved time, money and out of action time as he made it clear that surgery was only one option. The last Podiatrist I went to just wanted to schedule me for surgery.
