Horrible office

Dr. MacFalda has been treating me for a few years. He cares for the patient's needs. Staff is very nice. So, far so good.

Immediately walked into exam room, basically saying we were wasting his time because he had only the MRI interpretation and not the disc, nothing I had anything to do with. Then did not speak to me for 10 minutes. After, asked me no questions, stated my problems were surely associated with Topamax, which I had been on for 10 years, without issues, and I needed to change to Zonegran. Later, I saw his visit report, where he documented he did a full neuro exam on me, assessing all cranial nerves, stating he whispered in my ears, did eye exams, grip tests, etc. I would never recommend him.

Doesn't actually seem to know...anything. Rude, no empathy, and most importantly, doesn't ask before bringing 2 interns/residents in with him & then doesn't even introduce them.

We are so happy to have Dr. Macfalda in the Mid-Michigan area. He spent over 30 minutes with my husband and I. Dr. Macfalda asked a lot of questions to help get a better understanding of my husband's conditions and try to find solutions. He was also open to our questions.

Horrible. His staff is great, but Dr MacFalda himself is a nightmare. My husband has been trying for MONTHS to get a small amount of paperwork done by MacFalda so he can get his license back. We stayed when we have needed it by several times. They STILL don't have it completed. He is also very curt and impersonal. He doesn't seem interested at all in his patients or their problems. Doesn't care what other professionals have to say. Doesn't believe the patient when they tell him their issues.

Dr McFalda and his staff are always very kind and compassionate. Dr. McFalda is the best neurologist I have ever seen ( and I have seen my share ) his bed side manner is wonderful and he takes the time to listen to the patient. I strongly recommend him!

Dr McFalda has been treating my husband for Parkinson's for several years. He always takes time to listen to our concerns and makes recommendations. He has had us try different medications, encouraged us to participate in physical and speech therapy, and has always been available if we have questions. We have a direct phone line to his nurse and she always responds to our concerns as soon as she confers with him. We live in Escanaba so he tries to schedule our appointments in this area so we don't have to travel to Marquette. As a caregiver he has helped me with advice also. We really appreciate all of his support and guidance and trust his judgment.

Unlike many doctors I've had experience with in recent years, Dr. MacFalda makes eye-to-eye contact with me; doesn't spend the appointment time staring at a computer screen and typing notes; does listen to me and doesn't seem in a hurry to get to the next patient.

Scheduling with him and his office is a nightmare. It was 3 months wait and then he told me he wasn't comfortable diagnosing me. He referred me to someone in Green Bay and after receiving a diagnosis there, he then refused to see me anymore, saying "he wasn't comfortable with me or my diagnosis".
