GREAT DOCTOR... THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SERVICE...
Don't appreciate getting my head bit off about lost procedure results in the middle of a small clinic. Can't give this doctor anything less or I would!
Dr Dewan did my colonscopy many years back. It was extremely precise and well written, going into lots of detail. Some of his findings are still relevant many years later. Good recommendations. Competent and well done. Not a party atmosphere but I did not expect that. Excellent professionalism.
Have had 2 colonoscopies with Dr Dewan in the past six years. He is courteous and explains what he will do and goes over the results clearly. Both my husband and I have been very happy with him.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Dewan for years. He’s a very good doctor. With a good bedside manner. Doesn’t pull any punches very honest and straight forward. Exactly what you need from your doctor. I would definitely and have referred others to him including my own son.
My fiancé had a colonoscope and an endoscopy. I waited in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hrs. No one came and told me anything. I finally went to the desk and asked the receptionist about her. she was nice and went to check on her. She came back and said she was doing well and talking on her phone. Everyone in the waiting room had someone come and talk to them about their patient, even people that had came in after me. Still no one came and talked to me. Then I got pissed at the Dr. who did the procedures, and got loud about the rudeness of this human being. So what he is a Doctor, DON'T BE RUDE TO YOUR PAICIANTS AND THEIR FAMILY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I have been requested by a relative to delay posting the text of my extensive review until she has passed away. I agreed, though I told her that my conscience forces me, at the very, very least, to rate the physician and his practice as a 2 star.)
Dr. Dewan was great. He explained the procedure, why it was necessary and answered all my questions. My procedure was performed on time and the nursing staff at Ascension at Woodbridge were AMAZING!
I had a routine colonoscopy by Dr Dewan. He told me I had a tortuous colon and diverticulosis and needed a resection. I had just had bariatric surgery two months earlier and told him I was not having any further surgery for at least a year. The next visit I had with my surgeon, I was told that there was no justification for a resection of my colon as I had not had any acute episodes of diverticulitis, I had never needed any medication for same, and there was no reason to resect a colon because it was difficult to get a scope around a corner. My husband has end stage terminal cancer with metastasis in his spine, ribs, pelvis, lungs, lymph nodes and skull. He went to see Dr Dewan and had waited over 45 minutes past his appointment time before we left as he could not take the pain of sitting up any longer. My husband has been treated by Dr Dewan for 30+ years for colitis. We decided NOT to see Dr Dewan again and have switched practices. If this is how he treats a lifetime patient with terminal disease I can't imagine how he treats new patients!!!
While I find Dr. Dewan and his P.A. Ryan to be very caring professionals, their M.A. Michelle seems to have a problem returning phone calls. the first times I needed to speak with her It took two to three days to return my call. This time it has been nearly two weeks since my first call to her with a subsequent call the following week. Neither has received a response. I called again today and will now wait to see if I hear from her. I don't know if other patients receive this same treatment but from my perspective she is doing nothing to make me want to continue being seen at this office. If I don't hear from her today, I will be searching for a new doctor which I don't want to do. However my health is more important to me than continuing to deal with unprofessional office staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
