I saw him today because I was concerned a hernia had come back but it thankfully had not. Deppen is an admirable doctor. He is clear, calm, relaxed and really and truly listens. I don't know many doctors in the Lansing area who are so attentive to patients. It's uplifting!

I had surgery for two hernias and the experience could not have been better. The office staff was wonderful. Dr. Deppen was great. I enthusiastically recommend this office and this doctor for your surgery needs.

Dr Deppen was great. Very rushed but personable and handled my questions and my issues with emergency surgery for my gallbladder. His staff at Eaton Rapids medical center is top notch his nurse is amazing! The only problem is only Monday appointments are available there. His office staff at the lansing office sucks! I called on a Tuesday for an emergency appointment for an allergic reaction and his staff refused to make me an appointment, told me to take Benadryl(hello I’m in the medical field myself don’t you think I tried that before bothering your office!) I had to wait 7 more days for my appointment at his Monday clinic. Absolutely miserable come my appointment my allergic reaction and itching should have never gotten this bad. His Lansing office should have seen me not talked over me and wrote me off. Absolutely disappointed I don’t even know if it would do any good to talk to the office manager.

Very disappointed with the follow through from Dr. Deppen. He ordered a CT scan for a possible hernia which was completed and never followed through. The CT showed cancer on a kidney as an incidental diagnosis and yet I never heard from him or his office. Ended up having a partial nephrectomy by another surgeon and still no follow-up other than a bill for an office visit.

I went in for a hernia repair surgery in 2018 and my life has been nothing but pain every since l went to see him a few times after the surgery and he brushed it off like I was lying to him and he said the pain was all in my head and I assumed he thought I was trying to get pain medicine. The pain is debilitating and very disrupting in my life and I hope by posting this review that it will save somebody else from having to go through what I have gone through and continue to go through today. Stay away from this guy. I wouldn't let him touch my dog if my dog was dying I know two other people that have had horrific experiences with Dr Deppin go ahead and try to find some reviews on him that are bad I found two and the rest were blocked so they couldn't be read. They only show four or five star reviews so this probably won't make the cut. Hopefully somehow this will help expose him for what he is.a hack. He destroyed the quality of my life, don't let him do the same to you. sincerely, Life of pain

There should be a zero or negative star rating. Violates SMP by continuing to execute laparoscopic procedure when indications suggest cancer is or maybe present (necrotic organ/tissue and abnormal growth in immediate vicinity). SMP calls for oncological consult, or opening patient up to perform procedure and avoid tearing) spilling contents. His ineptitude and arrogance cost me my wife. He has since done the same to others. Avoid this...man...at all costs

I admitted myself to the ER when having very bad abdominal pain and found out I needed to have an emergency surgery to have my appendix removed, the ER doctor came in and told me I could potentially die which obviously sent me into a full blown meltdown, shortly after I met Dr. Deppen (who performed actual surgery) and his anesthesiologist he works with...needless to say 2 minutes into our conversation he had me so calm and ready for surgery and assured me this is something he does multiple times a day and that I would be just fine. Literally easiest operation I've ever had, also his follow up care was phenomenal.

He was clear, efficient, good-humored, personable, reassuring--and early! You can't ask for more than that.
