This Dr was great with one huge exception. He disobeyed my request to test my samples for a very specific bacteria. This bacteria may have been responsible for causing my Crohn's Disease, and I was exposed to it from a product that has since been recalled. Furthermore, class action lawsuits have developed in response to the recall, but I am ineligible to join them, because they want a lab sample showing presence of said bacteria. His disdain and ignorance for a strong concern I shared with him now precludes me from the compensation I deserve.

Dr. Drelichman was my surgeon for the first of two surgeries to remove large intestine (open total colectomy with ileoanal anastomosis) in Birmingham AL 2010. I was one of his last patients here before he moved. I had complications and had to come back and stay in hospital and then have second surgery wayyy too soon, about one month instead of waiting the usual 6 months to heal inside. He had so much compassion, excellent bedside manner. He truly cared about what I was going through and it was obvious. Sometimes that compassion and empathy can mean so much more than anything else. To this day I remember him as one of the few healthcare professionals that had those qualities along with the intelligence and expertise of their field.

You call them to schedule an appt and they tell you to leave a message and they'll call you back in 3 days and good luck answering if you are working! Calling each other back and forth.
