She didn't know what meds I was taking when she prescribed them to me, she asked what my name was 5 times. then she just dropped me as a patient because I felt like the meds weren't doing what they were supposed to.

I saw Dr. Thakur for about a year and each appointment left me upset. I had never been to a psychiatrist before so I had nothing to compare her to. Before every session, she would be about 25 - 50 minutes late. I even heard staff complain about her lateness. When I would finally see her, she would sit down and ask how my medication is doing. I would give my answer and she would either increase it or keep it the same. She would ask about my sleep and I would say I struggle with staying asleep. She would tell me to go outside and get some sun and that would be the end of our session. Probably took about 10 minutes and I didn't feel like I gained anything. I sincerely hope she gets more training and improves as a psychiatrist before she hurts more patients.

Saw her for years. Had me on adderall for 6 years. Increased me up to 80mgs a day. I transferred to a different doctor and he was appalled and started warning me off. I became extremely addicted and dependent at such a high dose. Also, waited over 30min each appt to see her. Constantly talked about herself.

I was honest and genuine with her and she called me "superficial". Completely unprofessional.

I was meet in the waiting room...it was me and another person waiting for appointments...she came out and very unenthusiastically said "One of you has an appointment with me?" Not even a smile... The session started with: "So you are Deborah? OK. This how this appointment will go. I ask you questions, you answer the question as asked and I will repeat your answer into this microphone for documentation." She had no warmth to her demeanor. 20 minutes at least was spent with her reciting my "answers" to her line of questioning, which were incorrectly interpreted and when I would try to correct her interpretation or add any further clarifying details to the questions asked she often cut me off and became visibly annoyed. After 45 min, she stated the clinical names of her prognosis of the types of mental illnesses I had with no further explanation and stated the medication I would begin taking. When I asked her what the side effects were (fatique was the big one for me) and objected to the choice of med, requesting other options she became very offended and defensive. She raised her voice and spoke to me in a scolding tone, telling me if fatigue was such an issue I needed to go get a sleep study and continued ranting at me in a loud authoritative tone about taking the med she was prescribing. End of story. Additionally, within 15 min of the session she often checked her wrist watch. Leaving her office, I felt belittled and that being a self advocate was an unwelcomed personal insult to her. At checkout, I did inform the staff I would not be scheduling any additional appointments with Dr. Thukur. At 42 years old, this is my first experience with a Psychiatrist and perhaps this is a common experience within this particular specialty. However, my first and only appointment with Dr. Thukur left me feeling worse than when I walked in. I felt talked down to and like the appointment was just one more thing on her to-do list.

She is ready to change her course of treatment any time I don't feel it's working. The staff is quick to respond to my problems over the phone.

At the start of appt I was instructed that she would ask questions, I would answer the question asked & then she would repeat the answers into a miciphone to document. She often recited a false interpretation of my answers. When interrupted to clarify and insure herunderstanding she beame increasingly annoyed. A good 20 minutes of the session was eaten up by her "reciting answers into the microphone. After checking her wrist watch over and over, she hurried thru telling me my diagnosis at the end of the appointment (without technical information about either diagnosis) she prescribed me a medication and when I inquired about the side effects. (fatique is an issue for me) and objected to the choice of med, requesting other options, she became defensively offended. Completely unprofessional, has a weird grasp on reality. I thought I was crazy...she's delusional.

Feel rushed practically every time. Will not prescribe any stimulants to minors, even when they are the only meds that work. Does not listen well at all, seems to have mind made up about the patient quickly and does not change it. Comes across as feeling above her patients. We make the extra drive of 15 minutes to a much better provider and health care system.
