When diagnosed with breast cancer there are so many questions and information flooding your head. Dr. Z was the most patient person and explained everything with perfection. He spent over an hour with us the first appt to make sure all our questions and concerns were addressed. The follow up appointments have been the same. His patient care and bedside manner is the best and more doctors could and should learn from him.

I would travel to the ends of the earth to see this doctor. After two previous horrific experiences with two different plastic surgeons in Ann Arbor, I found Dr. Zwyghuizen through a friend. I was warned that I may have to wait awhile because this man really believes when you are in his office, you are the most important person on the planet. After telling him through tears of my horrific, demeaning experiences with the Ann Arbor doctors, this gentle man did not try to hurry me or act like he could care less. Then he explained everything in detail as to how to proceed with my reconstruction. The surgery went exceptionally well. I could kiss the ground this man walks on. I will forever be grateful to him. It took two surgeries for the reconstruction, and both were successful. This doctor is worth waiting for. If you want a five minute plastic surgeon doctor, go see the two plastic surgeons I saw in Ann Arbor.

Really nice. I had a breast reduction in 2016. Great results. I still have large breasts but 5 cup sizes smaller and more lifted. Would recommend him to anyone.

Husband referred to this doctor for a broken finger by Sparrow Urgent Care. When we arrived we learned that his practice was mostly breast cancer patients. Waited 1.5 hours without being seen. When we left, receptionist said "I'm sorry, I don't blame you."

Dr. Z is well worth the wait! He is a great surgeon so you may have to wait a few months to get in, don't settle for someone because they can get you in! I am extremely happy with the results of my double mastectomy and reconstruction. I didn't pick out my implants, Dr. Z asked for an idea of what I was hoping for as end result and used his knowledge and judgement to make it happen. Wait time for appts has been longer since the new computer system in Nov, expect improvement with experience.

His front end staff is terrible. I had appointment in June and am still waiting for my insurance company to receive the letter informing them what he is planning on doing. First call I made was in September and they called me back the next day and told me the paperwork was going to be sent that day. I then went this week to the office and there was no note stating such. I informed them in june 2016 I was ready to have my reconstruction done. Now it is October and they also told me they are booke

At our first appointment, Dr. Z kept me waiting 40 minutes and didn't apologize. Then he or his staff forgot to contact Blue Cross and the breast reconstruction/reduction had to be scheduled 2 months later than we had agreed. No apologies for this either. This suggested carelessness to me, and I was thinking of canceling the surgery. But I'm glad I didn't, because he did a brilliant job. Everything happened right on time in the hospital. Minimal scarring and pain, and the results are beautiful. Everything has been easier and more satisfactory than I had dared hope. I should also mention that the PA, Miranda Cristales, supplies the missing bedside manner. She is excellent.

Don't see Dr after surgery, and not until 5 or 6 weeks later. Only see PA who cannot answer a lot of questions.
