While the bureaucracy associated with Great Lakes Eye is overwhelming, the care I received was excellent. Dr. F performed cataract surgery on my right eye a couple weeks ago with no complications. However a 2nd surgery is needed for a membrane growing over my macula to fully restore sight in that eye. I look forward to "seeing" (pun intended) him again after it is over.

Dr. Shokoohi does excellent work and takes time to explain what he is doing. He answers questions completely and cheerfully. You will, however, wait long after your appointment time to see him.

There is no excuse for the disrespect shown to patients by inappropriate scheduling and extraordinary wait times. We're going on 2 hours right now...

Expect extremely long wait times to see the doctor, at least 90 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. I was scheduled as his first patient at 7:40am and he obviously did not arrive to his office until almost 9am. Scheduling patients during hours when you're not physically in your office seems pretty unethical to me. He doesn't spend much time to explain condition or what to expect, you have to ask questions about what you should be doing for after care. However, his staff is excellent.

Everyone we"ve talked to has complained about the wait at Dr. Shookoois office, what they don't realize is that Dr. Shookooi drops everything to do emergency laser surgery or whatever treatment is required, this does slow things down, but if you are the emergency patient you can be thankful that Dr. Shookooi is taking the time in restoring eyesight to prevent blindness. we will gladly wait all day for him. He"s definitely worth the wait. Thankyou Dr. Shookooi.
