List of Jonathan M. Horbal's Reviews
Stay far far away from this man. He mis diagnosed my kids twice. His father is a lot better, but honestly I completely avoid now. Jonanthon yelled at me in his office for getting a second opinion at u of m. He belittled me and brought me in for an office visit refusing to see my child, and only to yell at me for getting another opinion. He completely read the back test wrong and said my kid was allergic to something he wasnt and my kid continued getting sick. Then he refused to fill our epi pens. He asked me what I did for a living and at the time I was a stay at home mom, and then he went on to tell me how lazy I was for staying home and bragged about his convertible car. I honestly think he has absolutely no passion in his job and is only doing what he does Because his dad wants him to keep the family business. SO UNPROFESSIONAL and if I could give a 100 negative I absolutely would!
Very well known in the community and so happy to have him here. Has helped me so much with my allergies. Sad to see the bad reviews on here. I have always been very happy with my care and how u have been treated. Would recommend without reservation!!
He spoke way to fast. Could hardly understand him. He acted as if I was lying about my own reactions to things. Made me feel stupid.
Outdated, uncaring, and unlistening. If you want allergy shots this is not the doctor for you! I've never written a review for any medical person before but in this case, I feel I have to warn you. He seems to care nothing about what a patient wants and gives them just about zero input into their care. I went to him twice and felt unlistened to both times. I was found by Doctor Horbal to have allergies to cats, dogs, various trees, a type of mold spore and dust mites. He prescribed me levocetirizine but also prescribed me montelukast in spite of me having a history of depression, so it seems he does not even read the paperwork he has you fill out. He also prescribed a nasal spray which at least did work. I never tried the montelukast because I didn't feel safe taking it. After that visit, I did not want to go back to him but I'm on Medicare/Medicaid with few options. I couldn't afford to pay the medicare copays with the first allergist I saw (they didn't take Medicaid) so I went back to doctor Horbal a second time. That time is why I'm writing this review. At the point of my second visit I had tried various over-the-counter meds for months and tried levocetirizine for a week or two. The over the counter meds didn't help that much. The levocetirizine did help, but it made me super fatigued and I quit taking it after a week or two. Doctor Horbal wasn't happy I refused to try the montelukast even when I explained why but he didn't try to push me to try it. He didn't care that the levocetirizine made me tired and just told me to try it again. I said I didn't want to but he insisted. I told him I wanted to start on allergy shots right away but he just wanted to prescribe more meds. I expressed that I had done my research and felt that I would want to start them even if the meds worked as I didn't want to be on medication long term, but he cared nothing for what I wanted and just reiterated that the risk of allergy shots was death. Which is a very small risk according to both other allergists I've seen practically no one dies from getting allergy shots and if they're in danger an epi-pen would save them. I must also say that I found his supposed concern over allergy shots being dangerous ironic since he has signs up in his waiting room urging his patients to wait twenty minutes in their car after receiving their allergy shots. If they're so risky, why would you not have your patients wait in the waiting room after receiving them? In fact, I asked my current allergist if I'd have to wait in my car after receiving shots and he laughed as though it was a ridiculous question then asked me if he thought I was gonna have them run out to the parking lot my car if I had a reaction; and told me that nurses need to be nearby in case of a reaction. This allergist also let me start on shots the next week because he actually cared to listen to what I wanted. I've since found via talking to other allergy suffers online that most allergists will do shots right away, just as the other 2 I saw offered to. Don't waste your time with Dr. Horbal, you'll be stuck on meds if not forever, for a very long time until he deems that you've tried enough meds to finally be worthy of shots.
I want to say thank you to Dr. Horbal and their staff for seeking answers with my Moms problems and sending her to an ENT. With your help we are going to get to the bottom of this.

He refused to give me allergy shots even though I was insistent on them and had tried meds for months and they didn't work that well. I also mentioned that I didn't want to be reliant on meds for the rest of my life but he didn't care. I've since found another allergist who is a lot more caring and he started me on shots the next week. I wrote a longer review on google.
I have never had a worse experience with a “professional” in my life! I have been to the office a few time and seen Dr Richard Horbal and had great experiences, today we saw the younger Dr Horbal and that was not the case! He was very short with me and said several times “I’m not saying you’re a bad mom” and “I’m not saying I need to call CPS”. My 6 month old was diagnosed with a dairy allergy a week ago and I brought her in because she had a new reaction, so apparently this makes me a bad mom? Awful experience and I will be requesting the other Dr in the future!
If I could give zero stars I would. Due to his Extreme ego he did not believe me that I was allergic to something gave me a shot of it anyways and almost killed me.. they couldn’t even transport me I was that bad. Three shots of epi and 6 shots of Benadryl. I should have took his license.
Miracle worker...Dr. Jonathan Horbal went above and beyond to provide life-changing care. Because of the prompt and innovative way he handled my unusual allergy to all antibiotics (resulting from Intense antibiotic Lyme Disease treatment), I am now able to live a fuller life without fear of life-threatening infections caused by things that a quick antibiotic would resolve. Because of Dr. J Horbal, my new and improved life starts today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
